Foreshadowing by Gosho :

-Drop some random comment about a secondary character's ex no one would care about.

-Introduce the guy 31 volumes and almost 10 years later.

Yeah, but at least people already considered it as foreshadowing, considering the speculation about the ex being Amuro :x

This looks to be an interesting case. Some things I noticed:
1. The maid looks like the maid from the illusion case. Almost exact same character design.
2. Only Yumi and Naeko on scene. I wonder if the DBs will solve the case or Conan will knock out Yumi, which prompts her to get back together with her ex when she proves him innocent.
3. Probably one of the few cases we've ever had where the police detectives on scene weren't Megure, Takagi, Sato, a one-shot detective, or inspectors from another prefecture.
4. As interesting as this story seems to be, Gosho will probably ruin it by putting in one of the normal homicide detectives, likely Takagi, Sato, and/or Chiba.
(In case you can't tell, Yumi is my favorite police officer, so that's why I'm so hyped this time! XD)
Once we get a translation, I can actually start making intelligent comments.

Well I can't read a word of Chinese, but clearly it must be the guy with the black eye (her husband, I'm assuming?), since the maid's appeared before and the other suspect is Yumi's ex.

also I'm glad we get to see Yumi some more and I hope Conan doesn't butt in and gets them back together. We have enough metropolitan police love stories, so they should remain friends. As for the people who said Amuro was yumi's ex, I see that in the chapter she mentions him Yumi says clearly he had a childish personality

Well, she was observant of Conan acting differently last time. I wonder what will happen if she becomes a recurring character? I liked her in the illusion case though so I'm kinda hoping for it :x.

That's what I was thinking. Gosho never makes reoccurring characters culprits of the crimes they're suspects in, after all.

So this wasn't a flashback case like I wanted, but Yumi and Naeko are good enough. Can't exactly say anything about this, but I think Yumi and her ex will be back together, because right now, she's the only cop who's not paired up. Or they can stay as friends, which is what I would prefer, because all the cops paired up feels like DC's about to end right this minute O.o I'm really hoping for a plot development (even a panel, I don't care) but I'm pushing my luck.

Who knows, maybe the maid will become quite a frequent character. Since she questioned Conan's tone of voice before, perhaps she will discover the secret? (or could she be, a BO member? ) And seriously, I think pmof is right, the maid can't be the murderer, Yumi's ex can't be either so it just leaves that other guy. That is way too simple.

A bit out of topic:

Firstly, just how many people know about the whole Conan = Shinichi thing? If he's worried about the 'less people who know = less people who die' thing, then he should be extremely freaked out right now.
Secondly, I can't see the recently subbed files, but I guess I'm not the only one
