I first watched DC back in 2002, when the son of a family friend of my parents introduced it to me. At that time, my friend had DVD episodes of the first 100 or so episodes dubbed in Chinese, so those were the only ones I watched then. Shortly thereafter, however, my interests drifted elsewhere, and remained so for a long time. However, shortly before I graduated from college in May 2010, I decided to rekindle this interest while I studied for my final exams and finished up some projects before graduation. It didn’t take long for me to become hooked in DC once again; in fact, it was because of my former interest in DC that I took up other crime dramas such as CSI, NCIS, etc. during my college years.

After taking some high school English classes, I came to realize that the concept of dramatic irony applies heavily in DC – the most prominent example being that we the audience know Conan = Shinichi, but not all characters in the story know that fact, and those who do know have so far not been actively spreading this info to other characters (for obvious reasons). The same goes for Ai and her true identity.

Now, I find it very interesting that this series employs the "floating timeline" concept - in other words, the ages of the main characters seem to be “fixedâ€

My personal hope is that she will be paired with either an existing character who knows little or nothing about her at this moment (similar to the Shiratori/Kobayashi pairing) or with a character not yet introduced (similar to Agasa/Fusae and Chiba/Naeko - both Fusae & Naeko were unknown in the series before they were introduced as love interests for their respective counterparts), and this character (whoever it may be) will be understanding of everything Ai has gone through during her life - her BO past, her shrinkage, etc.

I would find it very disturbing if Shiho/Haibara ends up with Mitsuhiko. I mean, I want her to return to her real body and face the reality of life. I'm still hoping that another character would appear who is as smart as Shinichi and would make Shiho change her views in life. I don't want her to be alone and just watch Shinichi and Ran end up together and get jealous even if she tries to hide it. I want her to have her own love story.

Oh, sorry if I had just ranted.

A lot of skirmishes happen between members, and you might get involved - but please do not try to even utter a single insult against Ai, if you don't want to be squashed, chopped, burned, tortured, pitch-forked or poked by the AiCon fans. Of course, the same applies to Kaitou KID.

So, again, I welcome you here, and please don't hesitate in praising Haibara. Many people do that, you'll pass undetected in front of the mods' eyes. Go off-topic (even in Off-Topic), annoy people -- just go and have fun.

^I agree with you on that. I hope Gosho will pair her up with someone, too. Although I kinda hope it won't be another childhood friend; more than enough of those types of relationships in the story already... :V He should try something new. Introduce a character she has yet to meet, which has something to do with the plot, develop a crush on, and eventually fall in love with.

Anyway. Enough of my ramblings. XD
