I'm a wee bit curious if you could agree, disagree or help analyze a little mystery that happened or happens on my workplace.
Here goes the list of things, we can call them exhibit a, b etc if you like that happened, and then I'll give you some of my own explanation, but a little female insight on the subject would be helpful too
Fact 1: The address of our workplace is a so-called twin house which means it was built as one, got later separated by a wall and fence but shares the same address: 55/b.
Fact 2: am the only guy at the office, all the women have relationships, but except for 2 of them the others romances are strained.
Fact 3: except for 2 of the girls all of us work with computers and databases, so calling our partners are a lot easier for us and more organized.
Fact 4: I was sick from 2 days after Easter til yesterday (the 12th) and a bouquet of tulips were delivered to us, no sender, no card. We got our salaries on yesterday, to its significance a bit later.
Fact 5: Today (13th) two boxes of chocolate was delivered to us, again no sender, no card, but this time I was present and learned it was irrelevant who receives it.
As of now, only these 2 incidents have happened, and I will give a definitive answer if it stops, but if not there are several possibilities:
The incidents are not related, just pure coincidence: that's highly unlikely since the address was given on the correct street and to 55/b and the delivery company did knew there would be someone to take it (our neighbors are pensioners by the way but the husband still works)
The incidents are related, just to the wrong address: that's possible and even romantic, though how could the sender if the old lady will be at home? And if it's her husband why no card and why risking delivering it to the other house?
It's pivotal as always who has the means, the motive and the possibility, so...
The incidents are not related, but our workplace was the right address: not unlikely, but still why no card? Which man does not want appreciation for pampering his beloved? If we were to throw away logic then yes, a woman can think it is meant for her, but these particular flowers were tulips, currently in season and potentially all the girls might like them, the same goes for the desserts. Besides, without a card one can risk that one or more girls can be allergic to pollen, which could indicate the sender doesn't know about their preferences.
The incidents are related and to the right address: possible, and without any romantic involvement. If the incidents stop right now then it can be related to the meeting which was held today. Reasons for that: my boss sent them anonymously to make our workplace more lively and the environment more positive, so it was meant for all the girls, and will not continue or it will but he have revealed that today.
And if they are related but won't stop... there is the possibility of stalking... and not jumping too fast to conclusions.
