Huh, 3 episodes for a 4 chapter case? I wonder if they're starting to slow down the pace to not catch up to the Manga.

That was their intent from the start. The anime MUST keep a slow pace of manga episodes to give room for the author to make more cases to adapt.
Maybe we will get another manga case in the anime before the year ends but it's to be seen.
