I'd also support a general rule being instated here at DCTP saying that posting of others' fan art is not permitted without first getting express permission from the artist. What does everyone else think?
It would be nice. But as I said, this is not my forum so I won't interfere in the habits of the DCTP forum.
I just explained my personnal feeling and point of view.
Unfortunately, not using Aoyama-san's images on this forum goes in complete contradiction to what DCTP is. Seeing as the whole point of DCTP is the unauthorized distribution of fansubs of his work to those who otherwise would never be able to see them, stopping that would mean shutting down DCTP altogether. So, I can't see that happening here any time soon
Yeah, yeah, of course I know that and understand it well.
I think (and I no lawyer) that DCTP could possible fall in to the teaching area of fair use. Also in my option, showing others fan workand making it clear that it is not your work but theirs should be ok as long as there is no message from the author saying don't. Any with such a message, I agree should not be posted.
The thing with the internet is, once something's put on it, it can never really be taken off. There are endless caches and so on which the dedicated computer geek can easily get their favourite data out of. Pictures posted online are posted into a free community; while I can appreciate the artists' desire to keep their art to themselves, it really is impossible to keep anything private on the internet. It's not what it's for.

Not necessarily. If you spent say five hours trying to write the prefect journal entry, I would say that is art. Also Sometime, I do the ART of fixing my computer software issues.
Hmm fanarts, what I thought is DCTP is a open forum. Sharing of pictures here is okay as long as people don't claim it as their own.
Though I would understand if people get annoyed with this though. Personally I think Asuka-san's frustration (if that is why she closed it down) is with people using her artworks on their personal websites and claiming it as their own on pixiv and deviantart. I know tones of artist that have done so and many artist go through many lengths to protect their artwork...though the same artist post their work on pixiv so that kinda confusing there xD.
I would see her works on 2chan and 4chan in the past. Is image sharing acceptable in that type of open BBS format? If so would DCTP be considered okay?

Edit: For a while I made these list of artist on websites for people to look up fanart they use on their wallpapers and youtube amvs. It drives me crazy when they get a picture by Asuka for example, put a filter over it and goes EVERYTHING BY ME ^0^ I DON'T KNOW ORIGINAL ARTIST.

I've been waiting for one, actually, but it'd be insane if a new girl comes in, develops a.. mutual feeling, then Heiji realizes that he likes Kazuha more IF that happens in under six chapters. Heiji appears once roughly every thirty chapters (just like Kid, kinda) and I'll only accept a love triangle if it's done decently. Those are hard, you know >__> Especially with Kazuha there since chapter 200-something.
