He/She's kinda different from both Heji and Conan. Unlike them, he/she say the culprit's name before showing his/her deduction, totally straightforward.
I think the biggest mysterious is this Sera's gender

-an elevator with both front and rear doors (that stopped at the 2nd and 6th floor when coming down)
-an electric weelchair with fishing line attached
-hauntings and a weird renovation site (lots of paint, graffiti...)

That's what it is. Remember that lady was the only one who had a box with her name in the previous file and everything was made for the reader to understand it was her. People are always complaining about one-suspect-cases...I think it's a nice change of pace once in a while.

Sera kinda like Heiji first appearance, look like he solved a case first but Conan/Shinichi cleared up his wrong deduction. Sera may do a wrong deduction then Conan completely solved it, wonder what happen to Sera after a case, will he nowhere to go or live, then Conan, Ran or Sonoko make him stay at one of their houses temporarily. There's no way Conan allowed Sera to stay in Kudo or Ran's house, but if Sera really decide to stay in Kudo's house, Sera will meet Okiya since both of them are spotlight characters for future BO story.

My guess is Sera's gonna get this wrong. Let's compare: Diplomat Murder Case with Heiji

-Seems really confident
-goes in to make the deduction
-gets it wrong, Shinichi has to correct, thereby asserting his dominance

This character, if we've learned anything from Gosho's past writing is not here to challenge Shinichi deductive, at least not primarily. There's definitely a bigger picture purpose for him, i just hope it doesn't have anything to do with Ran.......
