I think I prefer Akai as Ai chan's "brother" and Ai chan to stay as a child. I think she has missed so much as a child, and I wish for her to relive her life again. Mitsu chan is very mature for his age. Of course you cannot compare him to Conan, but I believe that Mitsuhiko will grow up to be a really... very good detective as well. His appeal will be different from Shinichi but I believe he will be a very attractive guy. (Maybe someone like Takagi? )
