Actually, just American kids. Japanese can see as much fan service as they like. The American rating system is ludicrous, demonizing sex and cursing, and glorifying gore. I cannot see Gosho depicting a sex scene but there's a lot of innuendo (the scene where Kazuha and Heiji are held captive in the attic).

I think disallowing the word sex is way oversensitive. At the age of 13 children already have some vague ideas about sex. A graphic description would be inappropriate.
I do agree with Yuki, I'd like people to have affairs in DC and it would certainly add to Kogoro's character. I don't want to SEE him do it, Conan could watch him go into a bed room with a woman and then they lock the door. Afterwards we see Kogoro regretting the whole episode and being uneasy around Eri. It's not really realistic that he would be able to resist that particular temptation, many women have shown an interest in him (Ruri, maybe even Yoko).

As for Kogoro that's right, he's a free man, he can do whatever he wants, but he still is sometimes too docile, especially when Ran orders him things to do, I mean she's his CHILD, have you ever seen a child that orders around his/her parents?

Which is sexist but true.

However: Eri and Kogoro never got divorced, even if she is still using her maiden name. So it was either Ran's decision to take care of her dad (at that age?) or there is another reason why she wouldn't be with her mother. It becomes more and more likely she is somehow involved with the BO. We have never seen where she lives either, have we?
