I'm a little late to the conversation, but I'm happy to join. I consider myself a Christian, but not a stereotypical one. I don't believe Christianity is the only valid religion, nor do I believe the bible is a perfect document or even a true account of history. I think religion should be personal, and is only useful if it helps you lead a better life. And, touching on something mangaluva said earlier, I think any religion worth anything should invite rational scrutiny. Religion shouldn't be about what to think, but instead be about suggestions on how to live.
