It's kinda interesting how the stories behind the cases are like 1000 times more interesting than any of the main characters. It's like the reverse of Conan (especially later Conan).

I will say the cases in general have really impressed me.

I thought the latest case was pretty damn good, though kind of disappointing to see Takato not play a bigger part. There was no need to put him as the mastermind there...

Terrorist case next episode, a short one I see... And after that I guess there's only enough episodes for 2 more mansion cases or 1 and multiple short stories or something.

*Revive thread again*
New op and ending starting last week. I don't usually care for endings, but I like openings because make an impression by starting off the episode. After 2 weeks, the new opening's started to grown on me, not too bad :P

Right, so...
This case was pretty easy to figure out, but I'm still proud of myself :D
Spoiler:
I saw the "captain taught me how to fly once so I can do it" coming a mile away. Obviously because of DC Movie 8 :P.

Re: Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo R Discussion thread

Post by k11chi »

Haven't been keeping up with the latest case but I decided to go in and rewatch the first episode... From what I gathered, Busujima Riku just drugged Kenmochi seems most likely from that, I wonder if he's getting killed off.
Spoiler:
Inspector Kenmochi case files

Hajime is sleeping, wakes up, Miyuki slaps him, new transfer student will come to school, someone drives and almost hits Miyuki and Kindaichi and stops.
Tamaki Takumi (20) is the driver. He's over 18 and a HS student still because he states that he's been in America until now and now he's starting as 2nd year high school student in Fudou High in Japan...

Kindaichi is in school, and Kenmochi meets with him and asks about if someone called "Tamaki" is in his class and Kenmochi asks about his personality. Kindaichi should be careful around Tamaki and not tell anyone that he met Kenmochi that day (He doesn't keep that promise).

Kenmochi goes to meet a woman called Togami Erina and pray in front of a picture of Erinas sister, Marina.

>Erina mentions a person called Aoi Reiji, who was Marinas (deceased) boyfriend. Kenmochi remembers that Aoi Reiji was a tall college student when Kenmochi met him in the past.
Aoi is a detective now.

While Kenmochi drinks coffee at Erinas place
>Doorbell rings
>a Lawyer named Komori Ryousuke is at the door and thanks Kenmochi for his job well done 3 years ago
>a man names Uozaki Youhei (20) appears behind the lawyer and is his client this time.
>Erinas and Marinas father filed a civil suit against 3 adolescent criminals after something had happened in the past, the lawyer Komori Ryousuke states
>Tamaki Takumi is stated to be one of the said criminals, Takumis family is wealthy so they could pay the civil demand but Uozaki Youheis family couldn't do that so they came to Erinas place supposedly to make a deal or something. The lawyer states that Uozaki came to make an incense offering for Marina "out of remorse"
door gets shut by Erina and she says that Uozaki isn't regretting at all, like Kenmochi believes that Tamaki doesn't either. Because both of the culprits that killed Marina are only fooling around.

Kenmochi walks somewhere and explains.....
"Three years ago, a female corpse was found buried in an empty lot in the city.
The victim, Togami Marina, was 17-years old. The murder got a lot of media coverage.
However, since the three perpetrators were minors at the time, even the ringleader, Busujima, has been released three years later from a facility.
They chose a person at random and stole her freedom.
They committed senseless violence acts against her to satisfy their sick desires.
And in the end, they even took her life.

"And three years later... They walk on the same ground as I do...
I can't stand it"

Kenmochi goes to a cafe to meet someone, the person he met is the supposed "ringleader" of the murder 3 years ago. Busujima Riku.
>Kenmochi sits down, waits because Riku is playing a game
>Kenmochi drinks from a glass of water that was there and Riku finishes playing...
>Kenmochi and Riku leave...
Riku tells Kenmochi that he's not regretting shit about what they did 3 years ago. They planned getting released easy.
Riku says that Uozaki and Tamaki feel the same way, Kenmochi is about to attack Riku in anger?
---
Night time...
Someone is trying to kill Riku, gunshots are heard around and he's running.

Morning... Riku got shot during night and the cops were there during day time?
"The shooting victim is Busujima Riku, 20, the registration number has been verified. It's definitely his."
>Akechi Kengo arrives on the scene. Akechi meets Aoi Reiji, Marinas (Deceased) boyfriend, from Fudousan PD, the Criminal Affairs Division.
Akechi: "So what kind of shooting inchident is so unusual that a police superintendent has to come to the scene?"
>Aoi Reiji says that they found a gun near the scene of shooting, and the gun was a match for the rifling marks.
Smith&Wesson, standard police gun that apparently belongs to inspector Kenmochi.

Kindaichi is going to solve the scene with Akechi.
Akechi explains Kindaichi what happened three years ago.
inspector Kenmochi was in charge of the investigation of the Marina case three years ago
Akechi mentions that Kenmochi has strong feelings towards the family because they've been grieving for 3 years and the 3 culprits are already free.

>inspector Kenmochis phone is shut, he never came home last night, no one has heard from Kenmochi since this? morning.

Busujima Riku is in hospital playing his handheld game and he says that the shooter was definitely aiming for his head on a dark alley (why). Apparently him picking up his dropped phone saved him from the shooter.
Riku didn't see the shooters face apparently. He tries to blame Kenmochi.

Riku tries to call Uozaki Youhei and ask if he's okay because he suspects Kenmochi wants to kill them all.
>Uozakis phone beeps few times, gets shut
>next time Uozakis phone does not beep nor answer and is turned off.
Akechi and Kindaichi go and track down where Uozaki is, Riku says that he doesn't know where Uozaki resides and has only met him once since getting out.

A bath tub is shown with water flowing in it and Uozaki is in the tub tape all over him and the water is flowing on him and he gets drowned.

Tamaki asks Kindaichi why he would know someone called Busujima and he snaps and tries to attack Kindaichi.

Erina and the police Aoi come to meet Tamaki.
They talk to Kindaichi next about Kenmochi meeting with him.

Lawyer Komori comes to pick up Tamaki because of what Tamakis father wanted.
Someone calls Aoi and apparently Uozaki is found dead, drowned in a bath tub.

Akechi is called to the scene, so who told them about the body..?

Re: Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo R Discussion thread

The second episode... They're making it pretty obvious that Busujima is the killer and that Tamaki and Uozaki only talked nonsense about him being the ringleader. A few other questions come to mind like Marinas text message 3 years ago and what kind of purpose that girl in that photo, that the lawyer was looking at, plays.

Also there is a contradiction of murder methods in the document and what we've seen so far. I wonder why Kindaichi didn't just pick that up when he read the documents, they were even talking about it.
>Death by strangulation
>Marina supposedly died when she tried to escape, and jumped out the window

And another weird part is that Busujima stuff... The shooting incident does not go with the torture methods used on Marina.
Spoiler:
Kenmochi case files p2

So we continue off where the last part episode left off; Togame Marina had been drove to her death 3 years ago, the three youngster culprits got freed 3 years afterwards and have returned to Japan. The perps from three years ago are starting to drop dead and Inspector Kenmochi went missing right before the first one died.

Case cast;
Togami Erina-v1's sister
Togami Marina-v1, 3 years ago
Aoi Reiji-v1's bf, a cop
Komori Ryousuke-Lawyer
Busujima Riku-c1, the supposed leader of the group that tortured and killed Marina 3 years ago
Tamaki Takumi-c2
Uozaki Youhei-c3, deceased by drowning in bath tub

Marinas torture methods
1.Drowning
2.Burned her skin with lighter
3.Strangulation
?

Erina is next to the murder scene of Uozaki Youhei with a creepy face. The lab dudes confirm that the faucet was left running, victim couldn't move and terror of drowning was the method of torturing.
Erina adds that it's a fitting death for the killer of Marina because drowning was one of the torture methods used on Marina.
>Aoi Reiji tells Erina that it's best she leaves

Uozakis phone is found in the water and Akechi tells to check out the call log because Busujima called Uozaki while he was in hospital.
-The phone was ringing at first, got shut and next time Busujima tries to call him, the phone is shut off completely. Maybe the phone got shut the moment that it touched the water? Could Busujima have made it so that the water started running when he gives the phone a call?
>the lab people and Akechi&Kindaichi confirm that Busujima called Uozaki at ~7 am. The time of death is between 7-9am.

Kindaichi tells Tamaki that Uozaki is dead, he seems surprised.
>Tamaki laughs?
>Tamakis father had already made the arrangements to keep Tamaki in safety, the lawyer Komori Ryousuke gives him a lift to school and back.
>Komori Ryousuke, the lawyer is shown looking at a picture of a little girl..?

Kindaichi and Miyuki go to meet inspector Kenmochis wife, Kenmochi Kazue.
Kazue: Kenmochi once volunteered to be a kendo instructor. Togami Marina-chan was one of his students back then. She had an aptitude for it and practised very hard. My husband took her under his wing and often brought her here to visit. She was so cheerful that our kids took to her immediately.
It's hard to imagine a good girl like that falling victim to this kind of crime...
On the surface, my husband calmly investigated the case, but I'm sure he couldn't stand to see Marina-chan's unregocnizable body with his own eyes.

Kindaichi goes to meet Aoi Reiji at the Fudousan P.D.
Aoi Reiji tells his connection to the case 3 years ago: Marina and I promised each other that we'd get married right after she graduated high school and I from college.
We'd decided on a wedding venue and started looking for a home.
Right after that, I got a text from Marina that was hard to believe.
From: Marina
To: Aoi Reiji
"I want to break up. Goodbye.

>It simply said she wanted to break up.
Aoi Reiji: "When I called her house, her parents said she hadn't come home since the day before. They said she'd left a voice mail saying she wasn't coming back for a while but not to worry about her.
>One month later they found her corpse. It was in a horrible state, even looked like another person entirely. One look told me what she'd been put through.
The three perps were soon caught, with Busujima Riku identified as the leader.
The other two testified that Busujima coerced them into participating.
*Motive for Busujima Riku*
>Aoi Reiji thinks they're all equally guilty.
>Kindaichi gets a call from Akechi

Surveillance camera footage from the hotel where Busujima<-*probably a translation error* was staying shows something interesting
-The killer with Kenmochis hat has a knife/gun on Uozakis back.
>Kenmochi Isamu is wanted for murder of Uozaki, Akechi makes the announcement because the police can't hide it any longer.
>Akechi thinks this is a trap.
>Busujima is going crazy and there's a call from there

Busujima tells that Kenmochi is like a guru to the police force and they want to keep him in hiding without telling the public.
>Busujima says he got a text message from Kenmochi that says;
"You can run but you can't hide.
The entire police force is on my side.
And someone else like me who doesn't forgive you.
The Executioner.

The reason why Busujima thinks it's Kenmochi who left the message is because he got that phone recently after he was freed from the facility he's been in for 3 years.
>The only ones that know Busujimas number are: Tamaki, Uozaki, and the cops who confiscated Uozakis phone with his info on it.
>Busujima runs away from the hospital
>Kindaichi wants more info on the lawyer from 3 years ago

They go and meet the lawyer. The lawyer is the one who picks up Tamaki now.
Kindaichi asks the lawyer what kind of torture methods were used on Marina who died 3 years ago, because the same lawyer, Komori Ryousuke, was also part of that case.
>The three perps were extremely cruel to their victim
>As a result, Marina died from falling out a window while trying to escape
>She could have died one week later because of malnourishment even if she had not jumped out the window.

Lawyer Ryousuke goes to get the documents because he doesn't want to talk about the case.

Kindaichi: A litany of sick, barbaric acts were recounted on those pages;
Water
Drowning
Burn Wounds
Death by Strangulation (?)

-Kindaichi mentions how no family member could sit calmly in court as they were reading aloud the torture methods.

The way Uozaki died is similar to the water torture inflicted on their victim, how will the other two be targeted? why was Busujima targeted being shot at, then?

Busujima escaped.
>Akechi tells Aoi Reiji to take Busujima into custody.

Kindaichi goes to meet Tamaki and ask why he's so laid back and tell him that he knows about the torture methods.
>Tamaki attacks Kindaichi
>Tamaki goes to the car where the lawyer Ryousuke is waiting at
>As Tamaki goes in the car and before Ryousuke gets in, a firebomb that has been planted below the gravel there goes off causing an explosion.
>A remote control was found nearby, could it be the remote control to cause the bombing?
>Kindaichi tells that the lawyer may have dropped a fire lighter there instead in order to cause the explosion

Busujima walks out of a shop and meets someone with Kenmochis hat.
-Tamakis death is confirmed
>Kenmochi is being suspected for 2 murders now. Kenmochis fingerprints are found on the remote control.
>five neat fingerprints are unnatural on a heavy device, no fingerprints on joystick

Aoi Reiji is acting suspicious trying to make them think that it's not too early to think that Kenmochi isn't the perp for killing Tamaki and Uozaki.

Kindaichi swears on his grandfathers name to solve the case and that's the end.

Re: Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo R Discussion thread

Post by k11chi »

Not really enough clues in the 3rd file of the case but it seems like Kindaichi got it. I think Busujima tried to do the hanging himself, and was waiting for a certain person to come and save him. Aoi Keiji, that is. Busujima was pushing Akechi on the phone to take atleast 3 trustworthy people with him to the place where he claims that someone with Kenmochis hat was trying to chase him.

The lawyer knows about the strangulation. In the documents it says that it was a murder method of Togami Marina. . . I don't know why but him being the perp because he knows about it, while others think Marina jumped out to her death, would be stupid as hell and I definitely don't want to see that nonsense. It's in the friggin' documents. Aoi Keiji should know about it. Kenmochi should know about it (doesn't seem that way for some reason...).

I'm pretty sure Busujima is a perp in this case. There has to be an accomplice most likely now. Maybe it is Busujima himself.
I'd say: Murderer; Aoi Keiji, accomplice: Busujima Riku. I just don't know why Busujima would trust Keiji to save him from being strangulated. That makes no sense. That part points towards to the Lawyer, sadly.
Spoiler:
Continuing from where the story last left off

Case characters
Komori Ryousuke, Lawyer
Togami Erina, v1's sister
Togami Marina, v1
Busujima Riku, c1
Uozaki Youhei, c2
Tamaki Takumi, c3
Aoi Keiji, police, v1's bf

Old man Kenmochi has gone missing and is being suspected of murdering murderers from the past.

Kenmochi case files

p3

Busujima calls the PD where Akechi and Kindaichi are. Akechi answers the phone and Busujima tells while shouting that "a man wearing a hat, sunglasses and a mask is chasing me!" The hat that the watchers see is the same that Kenmochi is using, so why did Busujima not tell about the supposed chaser in more-detail...
Busujima: "I escaped into a building but got a threatening text like last time! He's gonna kill me! He's gonna kill me! Like with the other guys!"
>Busujima tells Akechi to send atleast three trustworthy cops to the scene, and then it sounds like someone is covering his mouth from talking.
>They know Busujimas place in ~500 meter radius

Kindaichi and Akechi try to go find Busujima, Kindaichi finds out from listening the phone call Busujima just made that the place he's in might be in a baseball batting training center place.

The doors are locked, Aoi Reiji comes with the person with the keys to a door where Busujima might be behind and they go through the door that had a sofa behind it. Busujima is found strangulated behind the door... he's still warm but there is no pulse
>They manage to make Busujima breathe once again.
>Kenmochi walks from somewhere next to Kindaichi and he seems like he doesn't know where they are.
>Akechi takes Kenmochi into custody

They arrive at the hospital to get Kenmochi checked
Akechi: What were you doing during those two days you were missing?
Kenmochi: I don't remember. Last thing I remember is talking with Busujima in that park.
- Kenmochis gun was used for the first murder, someone wearing Kenmochis hat was spotted in a security camera like he was threatening the victim.
- At the second crime scene, Kenmochis fingerprints were found on a detonator.
>Kindaichi wants to talk with Kenmochi alone
>Kenmochi doesn't deny being the killer because there is too much proof against him

At the Hotel&Meals hotel Kindaichi and Akechi test out the first murder. The bath tub has a ball-like thing blocking the water from flooding out. Busujimas calls were confirmed. The bath tub gets filled in about 20 minutes.
>Kindaichi notices something while talking on phone while the bath tub was being filled with water.
>Kindaichi talks in private with Akechi about the alibis that all of the suspects may have.

The Alibis
The lawyer, Komori Ryousuke, had a meeting with a client on an unrelated case all morning. His alibi at the time of Uozaki's time of death is ironclad.
Aoi Keijis alibi: After Busujima's shooting, he returned to the station and worked on the investigation until late morning. He was with coworkers the whole time, so his alibi is solid, too.
Togami Erina has no alibi for the time of death, 7AM, but she was at her high school kendo club's morning practice less than ten minutes later. Considering the location of her school, it would've been impossible for her to get there from the crime scene in time.

>If everyone has a perfect alibi, that makes everyone suspicious?

Togami Erina wants to go meet Kenmochi but she hears that Busujima is in the same hospital.
>Akechi is meeting with Busujima, it seems like Busujima is shocked from hearing that he might have died had he been found few minutes later.

At Komori law office someone calls Komori and tells him that Busujima is still alive. Komori looks at the picture of a little girl.

At Aoi Reijis place, he looks at a picture of Togami Marina and tells that he will never forgive Busujima.

At the same hospital Busujima is in, inspector Kenmochi is getting angry at him still being alive?

In a car, Akechi and Kindaichi are having a chat...
>no one believes that Kenmochi is the culprit

Kindaichi and Akechi go to the baseball batting training place where Busujima did his call from and where he was found with a rope around his neck to check the crime scene out.

*Forensics made a map of the floor where the crime-scene rooms are in.
>The sofa that blocked the door may have been hard to put in place from outside.
>Busujima was hanging from the ceiling with his feet 30 centimeters over the floor despite the fact that there are no chairs or anything around the crime scene.
>The perp couldn't have entered and left in-out from a window because of a safety mechanism, so the door is the only way in or out the room

Kindaichi decides to take the keys for the building for a day, in order to get to the truth before inspector Kenmochis name is released to the public.
>Kindaichi seems to have gotten to the truth after seeing an odd-shaped cake... It reminds me of a moon of sorts...

Fire alarm is going off, the guard of Busujima Rikus room runs away and Riku is trying to walk to safety also. Kenmochi wakes up and spots Busujima on the hallway *angry expression on* and that's the end
