What makes it tricky to nail down exactly what Gosho is up to is the fact he really can draw it out as long as he'd like. I haven't really been shocked with any of the developments over the past 5-6 years except for the introduction of the...

"other brother" character.
That is the one time that I really couldn't pinpoint exactly what Gosho was thinking. Thus far, it feels needlessly repetitive within the same story arc and again retreading sibling identities all over again (something he has become increasingly fond of in recent years, surely). I really don't know why he introduced this plot thread so late in the game, but I feel virtually certain he didn't come up with it until only very recently and did so almost definitely to prolong Sera's part in the plot a little longer while nothing else was happening. That, and he likes the idea of having an unidentified force operating in the series at nearly all times.

Ideally:

I would hope that the "other brother" character is a complete red herring and doesn't actually exist.
That's a solution I would be OK with and would be something new that Gosho hasn't really explored very much. Playing pin-the-tail-on-the-plot-character isn't a game I want to play for another two-three years, so if we can nip this one early, I'll be much pleased.
This is just a speculation, but what if Gosho was told of the plan to have Sera, Okiya, Jodie, (etc.) in the next movie, and was told to prolong the arc so these characters would still be around the same "place" for the sake of being in line with the settings of the movie? The anime is now post-mystery train, so for all sakes and purposes, the studio and/or Gosho and/or Gosho's editors want the manga to be slightly static so when the next movie comes out, it will work both for the manga readers and the anime viewers. Maybe that's why Gosho throws more stuff in?

Then again, this all depends on when things happened, such as when did Gosho plan the current events of the manga, when the movie and its plot were even pitched, etc, so this theory can be very unlikely.

Firstly, to the heart of the topic - I think what has changed is our perception, not Gosho. As googleearth deftly pointed out, the Vermouth and Bourbon arcs are pretty similar. What has changed however, that most of us, i am quite sure, marathoned through the entire Vermouth arc, giving us a sense of continuity and we could refer back to stuff much more easily. Now, with us following the manga week by week, many of us are overthinking a lot. Especially the

other brother twist.
Also, even i saw the suspicious things pointing to Okino Yoko but however, i am a bit skeptical to her being anokata.

Yeah I was surprised it has turned out this way too. It feels strange to have Bourbon hanging out without any real consequences so far. Maybe Gosho intended for Amuro stay there in the long term and turn into Conan's secret admirer or something. If curiosity is what is keeping Amuro there, then he should be curious faster. (anime spoiler) He already knows Conan fraternizes with the FBI and other mystery people by phone.(spoiler) What is he waiting for? For Akai to stop by for teatime? If Eisuke could dig out Shinichi long distance, then the Sherlock Holmes of the Black Organization ought to be able to sneak a peek at the photo albums Ran keeps and such. I just want there to be a real reason for him to be so relaxed about his investigation of Conan.
googleearth wrote:You say Sera wasn't intended before the Hakuba case. I don't know where that information comes from,
Gosho explained in an interview that his motive for creating Sera was the popularity of the female detective culprit from the Lavender locked mansion case.

I can't help but notice we have an adult Akai, a teen Akai, and a little Akai now. Since adult Akai is limited in how much he can appear in the open, and teen Akai has been grafted to the Ran/Sonoko dyad and has no reason to hang out with the kids, I kind of suspect this could be a gambit to give the Detective Boys group access to plot cases without introducing a new fulltime DB member (the kid is "older" than them). Most cases where Conan fights the Org involve adult help somewhere since Haibara is usually useless if the BO is around. With a small Akai, Conan has a detective sidekick who can move in the "childspace". (Haibara has never quite been a detective)

Every thing in the past years was easy to digest in the manga, my problem is not
Spoiler:
the middle brother
but
Spoiler:
the middleschooler
May be the reason is that I was hoping that Gosho will start preparing for the end rather than that.
Every time I want to give up on DC, it manages to bring me back, it brings me back feelings I know that I will never ever feel or live again.

This one has crept up in my head as well. It's just a hunch but it could be quite convenient. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

As for Gosho panicking? Probably not. But I'm mildly bemused by how everyone's just decided to hang around post Mystery train and the way things and subplots just trickle along. It's not at a glacial pace though - we do get something during almost every case.
