True, but I think Gosho is aware of the existence of forums like this one and that most of these have established Okiya as Akai and Scar-Akai as Bourbon. That's why he might go for something completely different.

Forum peoples that have likely solved the thing are a small minority compared to the casual crowd. I don't think he would compensate for us.Dus wrote: True, but I think Gosho is aware of the existence of forums like this one and that most of these have established Okiya as Akai and Scar-Akai as Bourbon. Well, I imagine this "casual crowd" is much bigger in Nippon. Just an educated guess, but I bet there are way more people who are very passionate about their mangas.

So, basically, the Bourbon Arc won't necessarily surprise all fans, though it could very easily surprise most of them, especially if they're not the forum-goer types.

I agree with Chekhov.
In the Vermouth arc, like this one, the clues were all around the cases. Rewatch the Vermouth arc and you will notice them easilly and see how it all developed to the conclusion. Now, aside from having this forum and Chekhov who will point out every possible clue, we are already familiar with Gosho's style.

Well, I think Gosho pretty much stated that Okiya is Akai and Scar Akai is Bourbon. They didn't take off their masks but it was clearly implied. There's still the possilibity that it was all a literary bluff of sorts, though.Dus wrote: True, but I think Gosho is aware of the existence of forums like this one and that most of these have established Okiya as Akai and Scar-Akai as Bourbon. Actually, I think he at first tried to state that Okiya is Bourbon.Dashin wrote:Well, I think Gosho pretty much stated that Okiya is Akai and Scar Akai is Bourbon. What Chekhov said. Also:
It doesn't matter one way or another who Okiya/Bourbon ends up being. I want to see what happens as a result of who Okiya/Bourbon is.

Agreed. Also, we have no idea how Okiya/Bourbon's identity will be revealed. Depending on how things go, this could easily have major impacts. If we assume Okiya=Akai, I can already think of ways Gosho could use the revelations (ex Kir getting in trouble, Haibara finally meeting Akai, etc). No matter how 'easy' it may feel to guess their identities, this arc is still going to have one hell of an end.Abs. wrote: What Chekhov said. Also:

Besides, I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but to me it feels like Bourbon has barely made a move. The Red Shirts case seemed like a way to "test the waters" before diving in. When he/she does I'm sure less people will think this arc is a "disaster."
Thanks sister!

There is no question that Okiya, at least, is someone... even if he's just Okiya
Or maybe Okiya was just laundry fluttering on the wind this whole time/brocken spectre

Re: Would the Bourbon arc even bring a shock factor to all f
Noted. But if Okiya is just Okiya and has nothing to do with Bourbon, why would he be important to the 'Bourbon Arc' unless just as a Red Herring? As Bourbon has not made an appearance, and maybe nothing more then a Code word, why calling this the Bourbon Arc and not the Okiya Arc?Abs. wrote: Please note that my post, which you quoted, was about Okiya/Bourbon
