He committed suicide in the Summer of 2004, unfortunately. Pretty tragic, as he was a famous novelist brought in to write the movie for whatever reason. I think all Conan fans would agree the result was more than satisfactory.

Suicide? Wow, wouldn't have even guessed...

I liked Movie 6 - for the plot and everything. The only reason it didn't strike my fancy as much as some of the other movies (particularly 2, 3 and 5) was because it was so Holmes centric. And I'm not a Holmes fan (*gasps*).

But the movie itself was nice.

As for movie 12... Music, explosions, crazy culprit + Conan & co. being targeted. Doesn't sound half-bad...

I am really looking foward to movie 12, since movie 6 the others haven't been the big bang for me. I hope there will be a DVD out soon after the roadshow.

(I was really hoping that Japan will start to produce DVD's with englisch subtitels, but that isn't going to happen anyway exept for Ghibli Productions and some lonly specials  ).

But I am really looking forward the comments of the people who are lucky the watch and understand the movie.

In movie 6, Haibara shouted Conan right? I'ts the first time I heard her say that. I liked the movies though but I haven't watch movies 7 8 & 9 yet. I'm looking forward to the subbed version of movie 12 (whenever that'll be). I liked movie 10, it's really nice. They even twisted the ending with leaving a watch on Genta.

It's difficult to answer this question since the DVD for this movie won't be out before October or November. But as a matter of fact, DCTP has not released movie 11 till this moment.

I agree that movie 11 totally sucked. I mean, I was half-asleep during the whole movie. And the ShinRan moment was so totally forced! It was like the director realized he didn't have a ShinRan moment near the end of the movie, and he hastily added one! Argh! (I think I sounded like a 10 year old fangirl in that post. Oh well. Detective Conan does that to me.)

I'm hoping that the next movie would be as good as the previous ones (way way WAY previous ones). But I get the feeling I've read this type of plot somewhere in the manga before. Hmmm...

totally agree with everyone! movie 11 was a let down. I think the pirate theme was going on in the movie because of the pirate fananza in america :O [my opinion and don't kill me Dx]

Actually, I am looking forward to this movie. I love the musically themed cases(The Moonlight Sonata Murder and the Dissonance of the Stradivarius are my favorite cases of all time), so hopefully, the case will be interesting, everything will play out well in the movie, and I will love it like the other movies before it.
