Yeah, slap me, hahahaharajhaziel wrote: I would like to slap anyone who says they can fluent speak Japanese cause they watch anime... Have you actually heard how fast a Japanese person actually talks? LMAO!!! I would die from talking to someone if he/she spoke as fast as Conan does in the gimmick at the end of the episodes.

Re: Random: Languages?
My native language is Slovene, I speak German and English quite fluently, really LITTLE bit of French and some Japanese words (at the moment) as well. ^^
I love to learn Japanese and I would like to study it. Even if I only know some basic words now. And I can maybe understand 2-4% from what they say in Anime. xD It's really funny, when someone in school gets on my nerves (happens quite often, people love to pick on me -.-) and I can say "idiot!" to him in Japanese and he doesn't understand ... xD Hopefully, when I learn more, I will be able to answer people in Japanese, when they'll ask me something in Slovene. Now, THAT will be funny, I'm sure. xD
But for now ... "axe-murderer" xD
There are of course lots of other languages, that I want to learn ... Spanish, Italian, Korean, Russian, ... lots of them. I love to learn languages.

Well, the magic of global communication ^_^ I can't believe how many people from other countries are in this forum, I am really amazed to what a computer, and internet conection, of course, can do
As for myself I speak Spanish (Born in Chile), but as you can see , or read, I speak English too, because I've lived half of my life in the U.S

Re: Random: Languages?
Well the difference between Anime Japanese and Japanese is not just the speed. Japanese people can talk slowly if they want to lol, just like you can speak slowly if you want to (English is insanely fast and makes no sense btw). I think the main problem with learning Japanese from anime is that you pick up a lot a baby talk and you don't learn the "culture".
It's like having your parents saying "oh em gee that's so lulz!" or something, it's just...arg.
As for baby talk...it's like saying "kawaiiiii" and "desu~~~~" at the end of all your sentences. It's embarrassing to listen to xD
Right, enough about that. I speak 1337
. Trying to learn English, French, and chatspeak.

Re: Random: Languages?
you can't say that in such a general way. I watched Anime in Japan and learned some words through it. Of course you can't take everything for real, but if you watch NANA or Conan or Sailor Moon (really good for daily talk), you can learn a lot. I learned through watching DoReMi, words related to babys. Like "haihai suru".kirite wrote: Well the difference between Anime Japanese and Japanese is not just the speed. I know how to speak/write both English and Arabic fluently. I used to be able to speak/understand French as a child- but now I forgot it all. I plan to relearn French and learn more than the basic sentences in Japanese, still a plan - don't know when I'll get around to it.'

Re: Random: Languages?
I'm a French language speaker, and from what I learnt by translating English to French along Conan series is that knowing perfectly a foreign language isn't enough to make anyone a good translator. There are people among my MSN contacts who know correctly Japanese and are completely unable to write even one proper French language sentence. Apart from this, translating Japanese dubbed episodes of DC made me learn basic, simple terms of Japanese. I can also speak fluently Spanish, for having studied it during middle and high school with an incredible teacher. I also tried to learn Chinese language for one year, but gave up: I was completely stuck to another (English) translation. This year I'm about to learn Russian language more thoroughly than last year, let's hope this time, I'll have someone to talk with. The same year I learnt Chinese, I also tried to understand a bunch of Italian engineers, but that's also basic notions.
To sum up :
− French native speaker
− English
− Spanish
− Russian (notions)
− Chinese (notions)
− Japanese (notions)
− Italian (notions)

Re: Random: Languages?
I'm also a French native speaker.
Even if I'm still learning I think my five "real" years of studies have enabled me to express (more or less) myself in English, and I can undestand Spanish. Speaking it is more difficult.
And lastly I'm studying Nederlands, but that's quite anecdotal ^^'

Please forgive my bad english.
