My boy Luke Harangody @ ND, whether hes off the bench or a starter.
Also, I got Duke pretty high up there, Singler is awesome.
Also looking at the commodores.
Realistically I have Kansas winning it all again

Really? Pittsburgh is great and all, but I think this has been the Orange's best year since Carmelo left in '03.GinRei wrote:I agree, except I put Pittsburgh over Syracuse.Jd- wrote: (Jd-) Kansas, Villanova, Syracuse, West Virginia
I have pretty much the same picks as Jd-. I have Kentucky going out in the Sweet Sixteen against Temple, which I'm sure will make some scratch their heads, but Calipari's teams don't have a lot of luck in these things. I also had Duke and Villy in the Elite Eight, but it's hard to pick Duke. If they do win, it'll be in some hokey last second ending. Syracuse-Pittsburgh, if it happens, will be THE match-up of the whole tournament.

Kentucky has no follow-through in the tournament. When the heat is on, they always fall through (Get it? That's like, a border-pun on "follow-through". There's only one man to blame for this...)
Also, I hate Kentucky anyway.
For my future embarrassment, here are the soon-to-be-locked-in picks of one Jd-:
You will notice I have Murray State upsetting Vandy. They've never impressed me much and I also dislike them (I'm too passionate about my collegiate sports) due to rivalries and such, so if this one comes true, color me satisfied for the whole tournament. I really wish Louisville would be able to beat Duke in the 2nd round, but they just aren't up to snuff this year. Pitino is a great coach, to be sure--just whether or not they can overcome being a pretty terribly-rounded team this year remains to be seen.
Most of my brackets tend to be full of matchups I just want to see. If this bracket came true, I would be one happy camper.
Here's to that Kansas and Georgetown game, amirite!?!?1/1/
Spoiler:
I also dislike Duke, but I have both them and Kentucky making it to the Elite 8 even. If either loses in the first round, I will be so overjoyed that I will not mind having my entire bracket shot down in one go. It would be in a blaze of glory, I tell you!CarpetCrawler wrote: I have pretty much the same picks as Jd-. Re: NCAA Bracket Madness!!111
Not just Kentucky, ALL teams coached by Calipari have this problem. Don't forget when Memphis lost a few years ago because of horribly blown free-throws. Calipari teams for some reason are piss-poor in the free-throw department, and that's just the blaringly obvious thing that's wrong with the team, as compared to the other things...Jd- wrote: Kentucky has no follow-through in the tournament. I have Kentucky losing to Temple in the Sweet Sixteen, which is one of my few big upsets, and Duke losing to Villy in the Elite Eight. I would love it if Duke were to lose in the first round. Nothing like being able to gloat to those moronic Duke fans. God I can't stand watching Duke home games.Jd- wrote:I also dislike Duke, but I have both them and Kentucky making it to the Elite 8 even. Our brackets, other than a few minor differences (I don't have Murray State getting past Vandy,) are pretty much similar, down to the Final Four, though I have WVU and Syracuse in the National Championship game, with the Orange winning it. This is the 'Cuse BEST season in almost seven years. I agree that Vandy's a wee bit overrated, that 4th seed is WAY too hight, but I don't see Murray State and Butler having a chance of beating them. I agree on Lousiville, though I think one of the main problems is not only that the team isn't very good, but Pitino's name is being heard in EVERY coaching rumor. It's a wee bit of a distraction, that's for sure. This is probably their worst season in a while. I love Pitino because of the time he spent with the Knicks, so I'm rooting for them, but I have them losing to Duke in the second round.Jd- wrote: For my future embarrassment, here are the soon-to-be-locked-in picks of one Jd-:

I also don't really pick any upsets, mostly match-ups I want to see.
I've got that too, and THAT would be a cool match-up. Talk about a complete clash of styles, right? I'm looking forward to Syracuse-Pitt if it happens.Jd- wrote: Here's to that Kansas and Georgetown game, amirite!?!?1/1/![]()
That's the sport that I follow more than any other sport, and probably my favorite professional sport (I love basketball in general, but it's professional more than anything else). I used to be called a "stat god" by my friends. Actually, my original dream was to be a play-by-play broadcaster for NBA games!Beastly wrote: Anyways is it only me who follow NBA?
So anyway, who's getting what games? I'm getting Robert Morris-Villanova. Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery are amazing together. Tomorrow I'm excited because I get a Gus Johnson game, so I get to listen to the great GUS~!
BTW, I call for a bracket contest for next year for FUN~! of course!

I actually love the NBA, but I follow players more than teams, cause to me--if there ever were a team sport where one player could really make a difference, it's basketball. I love to see the great match-ups--like Kobe & LeBron, D-Wade & LeBron (imagine if they do end up on the same team next season!), cause LeBron is just amazing to watch. Go watch the documentary about him and his high-school team's quest for the national title, called More Than A Game, if you haven't already. It was fantasticness.CarpetCrawler wrote: That's the sport that I follow more than any other sport, and probably my favorite professional sport (I love basketball in general, but it's professional more than anything else). I just love watching the star players go at it and can't really dedicate myself to one team. Pro basketball is great because of just how close the games usually are.
I've got BYU & Florida on right now, and Florida is kind of bringing the thunder. I really hate the Gators, period, so if they win this, ROARZ.
Dudes, what is with Villanova losing 9 to 13 right now? That is absolutely absurd. I really doubt they'll lose, but imagine how many brackets will sink if they do.

Re: NCAA Bracket Madness!!111
Yeah, that's a sport where I know of a LOT of people that watch mostly the players (I have a friend who only watches the Lakers, who I hate, because of Kobe, who I hate more than anything else in the entire world.) I've been an NBA nut since I was like six, so I can sit down and watch any NBA game, really. Yeah, I guess have you heard the rumors that LeBron and D-Wade might play together at Chicago. I HATE the Bulls to death right now, so I really will not be a happy camper if they both decide to go there. I kind of wish LeBron would go to my Knicks (ugh), but I know the reality that we mostly likely will get Bosh and that's it.Jd- wrote:I actually love the NBA, but I follow players more than teams, cause to me--if there ever were a team sport where one player could really make a difference, it's basketball.
