I've yet to see it but yes, I'd heard about this English dub version of Movie 22, released alongside the arabic dub of it.

If it can make bring about a better dub for the movies, that could be great to attract new audiences.

A dub of the movie "Detective Conan: Zero the Executioner" was in fact shown at AX in Los Angeles.

Hopefully we'll see it on Blu Ray before too long.

Amazon USA has a subbed version: http://amazon.com/dp/B07ZCMXGFM
But the subs are hardcoded and look identical to what you find online, typos and all...

When I flew ANA in summer, 2014, I was shocked to find that the flight had Conan movie 18 with full English subtitles. I can't remember if those subtitles ever saw official release though so I wonder if it was made purely for ANA and/or other airlines.

What's interesting about the sub/dub of Movie 22 is that it's no longer called "Case Closed" but rather "Detective Conan", which makes me wonder if the holder of DC's rights outside Japan have changed hands,

As far as I understand, Funi no longer holds the rights.

It was Discotek who released Lupicona, for what it's worth. And they were allowed to use the "Detective Conan" title.

Considering the series's popularity here in Asia, this doesn't surprise me at all. That said, this release for airplane viewing seems strangely too early, though. The Blu-ray wasn't out yet at that point, and international audiences have yet to see the movie. Movie 18 had its theatrical release in my country (Philippines) in October, and it had English subtitles. I forgot when it came out in Singapore, though, but I'm pretty sure it was before that.

Oh, speaking of Singapore, I flew Singapore Airlines last April/May and the flight had Movie 3 (and in the Our Favorites section, too), as well as the Kaitou KID Trick Box episodes. I'm surprised they had the latter instead of the Kaitou KID vs. Makoto case, if they want to hype up the fact that this year's movie takes place in Singapore. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it becomes a permanent part of their movie catalog.

I definitely have seen multiple movies on-flight before they are out on DVD and blu ray and I flew in August, which is already 4 months after the theatrical release (so movie theatres have already made their $$$).

The English sub theatrical release is quite interesting. Can you buy official Conan DVDs for movie 18 now that have English subtitles? I had no idea you can do that, at least in the North American market.

On eBay I've come across subbed versions of all the movies. I suspect they're bootleg and that these are mistakenly circulating in some of the more legitimate circles. Speaking of which, Amazon USA took down their version.
Any news yet on where the M22 dub will be released for home viewing? Saw nothing on Amazon USA.

Unknown. Given how the dub was made for Arabic regions, unless someone buys the licensing rights, it probably can't be sold in the US.
