Air on the G String kidnapping case: (Files 728-730): Vote f
I'm using a filler poll for now because I have no idea what to post for the real poll yet. I'd appreciate ideas you all might have. So far this seems to be a figure-out-what-the-heck-is-going-on open ended type case.
(despoilered)
I think the kid is still alive, and is the shadow person the others saw (probably standing on something to increase his/her height) because it wouldn't make much sense for a kidnapper to come back later and start playing the piano with intruders in the house. Also, it would be pretty lame for an adult to put a rolling cart in front of the door that a single kid could easily push out of the way. Air on the G String is for string and piano, which would imply there maybe was a second person in the house on the violin, perhaps the adult if the kid is on the piano? And what is that box under the piano? If the pages dried between the book so they stuck together then it has been a while since they were written. Perhaps the kidnapper adult, if there is one, meant to come back to finish the deed, but never did leaving the kid alone in the house which might explain the potato chips lying around and the messy kitchen? The kid might be afraid of Conan's gang for some reason...

What if I have a theory AND I like Conan's snappy suit!!!!! WHAT THEN!!!!

Seriously, why does he have a snappy suit on when they were digging up bamboo shoots.................................... WHO CAN ANSWER THIS PRESSING QUESTION??? WHO???

Anyhow, I think the "boy" and "kid" and such is in reference to a cat or dog. Or, as I said in the Spoiler Cbox..... THEY ARE IN THE B.O. BOSS' HOUSE AND THE "KID" IS THE CAT!!!!! DUN DUN DUN!!!!!

Chance are this is going to be a silly case..
No one died, no one got kidnapped, and the whole thing was just misunderstanding due to various circumstances..

Agreed, i think this is more pressing question than the case itself..Abs. wrote:

I expect Yukiko and Yusaku to appear in this case. As for Conan's suit... I have no clue.

Re: Air on the G String kidnapping case: (Files 728-730?): V
I think the key for solving this case, is the off tuned note (musical pun)
But seriously, I wonder if the slightly off-tuned note has any importance. According to the raw (the drawing isn't that good so I could be mistaken), the off-tune note is either C or B.
I had this odd hunch that one of the potato chips entered the piano (it's a grande piano, and if the child stood on the box which is under the piano, he could easily put a potato chip inside...for whatever reason), which is why the it's not tuned correctly. Usually, when there is one off-tuned note, there should be more off-tuned notes, but if only one is not tuned, then it's a bit weird (but possible as well). A potato chip might be stuck between the hammers, but then I'd expect the note to not be "slightly off-tuned" but really off-tuned.
Well, it's just a hunch.
Given the case is connected with "strings" one of the strings of the piano could have as well been damaged. (but if it's something with a string, it should affect more than just one note)
Anyway, I still think it's a bit illogical that Conan has good hearing but is tone deaf.
The reason why people (like me) can sing in the right pitch, is because their musical hearing is good. (I'm not talking here about singing good. I'm talking about hitting the right pitch and staying in key.) But well, that's Gosho for us.
(One of my teacher knows some people who are researching how we can hit the right pitch and if it's connected to our hearing, so it's not a proven fact.)

Well, Shinichi is not really interested in music, so that might explain his inability to do well, when it comes to music. Though his own ears should be hurt after hearing himself singing.

I think that while not completely unrelated, hearing and vocals are two different things. If you're tone-deaf by medical definition you can't recognise the different pitches. I don't think there's ever been a tone-deaf person able to sing properly, but if there is then they have gained my respect because it's extremely hard.Kor wrote:

BUT if you can't sing it doesn't mean you're tone-deaf. It just means you can't sing and has more to do with your vocal chords than your hearing. Personally when I sing I get the pitches more or less right, but I can tell they're wrong. Doesn't make my singing any better though XD

Oh yeah. I suppose I should respond somewhat to the contents of your post, Chekhov

Anyhoo. We can probably assume that Genta was running back the way they came, which means that sometime after the DB went into the piano room, someone 1) put the coffin in the middle of the hall, and 2) put the hand truck used to transport the coffin in front of the door to the piano room... and even probably 3) turned on the light in the kitchen. But what does this all mean, besides that Abs. thinks that they are being led?

You answered your own postulatory question.Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:Also, it would be pretty lame for an adult to put a rolling cart in front of the door that a single kid could easily push out of the way.
The adult would have not been gone for much time, then, since 1) the potato chips don't seem to be stepped on except for Genta's, and 2) There was food left over on the table in the kitchen - which wouldn't be the case if the kid was left for some time (he would have gotten hungry again and eaten the rest)Chekhov MacGuffin wrote:Perhaps the kidnapper adult, if there is one, meant to come back to finish the deed, but never did leaving the kid alone in the house which might explain the potato chips lying around and the messy kitchen?

i have no idea but i love conan's snappy suit^^ he's so cute that way!!!
but i have to say i wanted to vote "where's the plot"!!! really,i want to have some clues about Okiya,or anything related to BO!!!not necessary an entire file, but something which can bring something to the plot!

anyway,i expect to see Yukiko too...it would be a good file if everything was a joke to afraid the DB^^

Re: Air on the G String kidnapping case: (Files 728-730?): V
And why is that? If you hear a song, and then sing it (without support from the music), how do you know what you sing is correct? You hear it, and then you can know what to sing. Also, if you get the wrong pitch for an instand, if your hearing is good, you'll most likely hear the mistake you've made, and then try to correct yourself. You can also say that you "memorize" the song in your head, so you can sing it good, but you memorize it based on what you hear.Key-chan wrote: I think that while not completely unrelated, hearing and vocals are two different things.
I didn't know it had a medical field too. But this either explains then that Gosho doesn't know that, or Shinichi isn't really tone-deaf.Key-chan wrote: If you're tone-deaf by medical definition you can't recognise the different pitches.
Please read again what I said:Key-chan wrote: BUT if you can't sing it doesn't mean you're tone-deaf. It just means you can't sing and has more to do with your vocal chords than your hearing.
In my musical hearing class, we also work on solfege (singing notes and exercises) and one of the students sings like a donkey, however despite that, he can hit the correct notes easilly, because his hearing is good (though mine's better(I'm not talking here about singing good. I'm talking about hitting the right pitch and staying in key.)
And regarding the vocal chords (I recently had a test about the subject) - your vocal chords can pretty much produce the same thing that MY vocal chords can (ignoring the fact that we don't have the SAME chords).
With our vocal chords we can control the pitch of our voice (to a certain limit of course). If you try to sing a certain song which you've just heard, your vocal chords will try to produce that pitch which you heard.
Acknowledging the problem is already part of solving it - If you are aware that you're wrong, then it's only a matter of practice before you get it right.Key-chan wrote: Personally when I sing I get the pitches more or less right, but I can tell they're wrong. Doesn't make my singing any better though XD
Having good hearing doesn't solve EVERYTHING, and your hearing by itself won't fix your singing, you have to fix it yourself. The hearing part can tell you only whether you're right or wrong in your singing.
Exactly. If Conan could tell by hearing, that of one the piano notes is slightly off tune (while the piece is played), then he should hear HIS mistakes while singing, and at least try to correct himself somehow.Misztina wrote: Though his own ears should be hurt after hearing himself singing.![]()

Voted for the same. Come on, Gosho! Give me BO/FBI/CIA/anything related to it like fake(?) Akai or Okiya! It feels like ages when we last saw a chapter with the BO in. -.-

An Akai/Okiya related episode would be fine for me.
