That’s doubtlessly the most significant alteration to date. Not least because there simply aren’t infinitely many useful rearrangements on a smaller scale, I think that previous versions had become rather stale; however ridiculous the movie might be, it certainly breathes new life into the soundtrack. If this sets the tone for the remaining sixty-four compositons, it’ll be a real treat.
Aaaaah~ The trailers are giving me Chihayafuru feels. It's been a while since I heard the words Hyakunin Isshu. I can't wait to see people playing karuta in animated form again. There's just something beautiful about the way they're being drawn as the poems are being recited. Plus, the new Mai Kuraki song is pure hype! It's in the calmer spectrum of the themes but it still packs a dramatic punch. Can't wait for the full version!!!
Also, I'm cracking up at the news where OnoD's gonna be voicing the butler lololol
The other manga is Chihayafuru by Yuki Suetsugu, a josei manga about competitive Karuta, i.e. the game that Momiji is playing and that will take a center role in M21, hence that little promotion.
While Run, Conan is just a short version of the Main Theme, Contest Venue incorporates the melody in a different manner. I guess that confirms this year’s overall style being a mixture of contemporary beats and strings, and it really sounds great.
