"What's 'black Friday'?" Story:

Hey mom, what's black Friday?
It's a Friday that's black...

Hey dad, you know what this "black Friday" is about?
Isn't that the Friday when Jesus was crucified?
No dad, it's supposed to be this week so it can't be...
Then I don't know...

Is there anyone here who knows what it is? It does seem to be a thing in America you know...
No... go away...
Okay...

Takes mom's phone, log into her Facebook, read the black Friday explanation written by mom's American cosine who happened to be explaining it for her friends and relatives who don't live in a place where black Friday is a thing... which happens to be our situation currently...

What I find strange about this is... why did we never hear about this until now...
Thanks for the SS Kamite! ;D

Lol 5 days left of NaNo and i'm hyped if I can't get a move on. I'll try my best to get closer. Some people have gotten 40k in a day I hear. I'm rereading this story now and writing down little things and then try to continue. I have an idea how the first half goes but after that might become a problem.

Really basic explanation: Black Friday is called that because of stores lowering their prices to sell more, thus taking them out of the red (Y'know, debt).

It's weird because afaik Europe is now adapting it too. Soon, the world will be consumed.

Yeah... I got that (from mom's American cosine as I said) but thanks anyway ;D
I guess we didn't hear about until now because other countries didn't have it and now they do... (seriously they should do it here... I need some new clothes for the winter :P )

I wonder if mom actually knew it but didn't say anything to troll me :P she does this sort of thing a lot actually... usually she comes later and tell me about it but recently she's so busy and won't remember >_< I have to remind her multiple times before I could get my answer :P

I'm copying text from old notebooks, that I used to collect information for inspiration into in the last three years, to Word files just to get my word count up. I'm just not getting enough text for the story but after copying from this one "News articles" notebook, I got answers to couple of important questions for my writing course. So now I feel less like a cheater, as I can continue with the story.

What kind of research and how detailed/ technical do you want your answers?
Also by nations I assume you mean the UK and other EU countries?
Wow.

An easy place to start with would be to find what benefits being in the EU gives to the UK and its citizens. If the UK leaves the EU (completely), the UK will no longer have these benefits. (of course no one knows yet under what format and on what terms the UK will leave the EU, so this is only theoretical).

I also suggest as another starting point to check cgpgrey's videos about Brexit and the EU in general.

The main selling point of a "Brexit" was that the European Union is becoming (or will become) increasingly federal in nature, until it one day reaches the point where European countries have roughly the same level of sovereignty as US states (like California or New York).
The argument goes that the United Kingdom should withdraw from the EU now while it still possesses the national sovereignty to do so.

Another point is that the EU is primarily a continental union. For a thousand years Britain has worked to keep itself from becoming tied to continental Europe, and for a long time much of its foreign policy revolved around keeping the continent from uniting as one political entity that could threaten Britain (part of the reason why it opposed Napoleon and Hitler).

Okay so now I understand what is the European Union about, and why Britain wanted to leave. Now the question is how are the other countries in the union going to react. Are they going to continue to stay; are they going to follow Britain footsteps; are they going to rebel against the EU for letting it happened; are they questioning the EU's flaws What I am saying is what are the other countries in the union going to do?

So far reading articles, France are leaning into leaving if the National Front party's Marine Le Pen becomes the next president. In an interview she said "(France has) thousands more reasons to leave than the U.K."
As opposed to Germany which stands its grounds with taking any "hit" to the economy done by Britain's exit.
Though I want to hear more from other countries as well.

As many members here on this site are from Europe, what are their stance on this? Hearing opinions livings in those countries, brings light into this.

EDIT: I am learning more on other countrie's crisis than ever before; such as Italy's and Greece's economic values.
Anyone from Italy here? Trying to get more information on Italy's referendum coming this December. Trying to find out if Brexit and Italians living in Britain, could influence the referendum vote.
