The tengu was the folklore creature from that complicated temple case. Curious to see what they do with that. The other titles all seem pretty generic.

I think I should stop to watch Conan until next year. This year is full of AOs as hell. Why DC cannot be like Gintama, just stop when running out of materials and improve animation and production.

Gintama relies on its DVD/Blu-ray sales for income. If they did too much filler, people would stop buying it and they would be slowly killing their own business. The Conan anime doesn't sell DVDs, it relies on tv ratings for income.eros1607 wrote:I think I should stop to watch Conan until next year. This year is full of AOs as hell. Understood. That's why besides movies, the animation of DC is quite bad because they make too many episodes in one year, not to mention shitty content of AOs. Even One Piece also suffer with downhill animation and 1 episode covering 1/4 chapter. Gintama is also very episodic like DC but glad that it choose the different path from DC, last season of Gintama is goddamn amazing.Wakarimashita wrote:Gintama relies on its DVD/Blu-ray sales for income. Honestly, take away the Yamato focused case and the zombie one and I genuinely don't see a significant downgrade in quality between the manga cases and better AOs this year.
Like, what even happened in the other cases this year that weren't AOs? Was that ramen case really that good?

Calling it; the last two episodes of the year will be 842-843, which'll be the department store stabbing case. Then for December 17 they'll re-air a really old, hour-long episode, or a twenty minute one. Some possible candidates for the December 17 re-airing include 4, 54, 118, 162, 304, 400, etc. That'll be it for the year. Then, on January 7 and January 14, episodes 844 and 845 (a start-of-the-year two-part AO, probably involving a sightseeing tour of some Japanese city) will air, also marking 500 episodes since the showdown with Vermouth.

Don't forget that "episode one" is to air on december as well.
And I doubt they would air an old special as a whole again, they would rather split it into several normal length episodes like they did with Black Impact back on April.

The end is nigh! AO hell is coming!
Just kidding, I don't really see any difference between AOs and manga based ones. In fact AOs often are better than manga ones, because there is variety in them, and do not try to give us hints about the BO or the plot itself. Not to mention that characters in the AOs are more natural and free.

Manga ones still has its minimum quality, let alone the most brilliant manga cases but a lot of AOs are just downright stupid. This year may be better but I doubt they can keep up the quality.

It might be just me, but I fail to notice that minimum quality. Maybe if most of times they would not be boring or Gosho would be more generous with hints, or at least that hints would be worth more than a pound of cat fur, then I would admit that they have that minimum quality. As of now AOs are better, because they do not pretend to sell us a some sort of story with omnipotent, yet full of rats, organisation, black agents that are a parody of themselves, a magical elixir that can stop the very time itself and an eight years old child that can outsmart everything and everybody. AOs are family shows about a child detective who is very smart and since he is just a child he sometimes must use other means when he wants to be heard. He solves normal, everyday, cases that are not about entities as huge as the world itself or that do not have a second and sometimes a third, deeper meaning.

Re: 2016 November Anime Episodes Schedule COMPLETED! (4 AO)
You seem very angry about the overarching plot elements, but what about the main elements of the episodes, the regular cases? Even the weakest manga adaptation this year, the Blogger Actresses case (imo), was better than any of the anime originals. The AOs shine when they don't try to fit a case into just a one-parter, but instead try something different (Mysterious Boy, Beauty-Lies-Secrets, Missing Fiance to some extent). And even when have a two-parter, the cases are mostly just boring or a letdown. Kogoro's Pursuit of Rage? Meh, interesting premise, but poorly executed. Man who died twice? Uninteresting story, for some reason dragged over two parts without enough contents to justify that. That goes double for the Ebizo special, which was terribly paced (20 minutes of Conan playing MacGuyver to get out of a room without that having much meaning to the actual case...). Only the Ventriloquist's Illusion made good use of it's two parts, though the gimmick of that episode got old rather fast imo. I've stated my opinion on the one-parters in another thread (not good). Case wise, I don't see any AO this year that was able to reach the quality of the weakest adapted manga case this year.

Re: 2016 November Anime Episodes Schedule COMPLETED! (4 AO)
I'm not very angry about the overarching plot elements, because otherwise I probably would not watch the series at all.
My point was that we should not demonize AOs and consider manga based episodes superior to AOs just because they're manga based episodes. Manga based episodes equally are boring or uninteresting, and the only difference between manga based episodes and AOs is that that 8n manga based episodes we sometimes, but not alwalys, get general plot elements that also most of times are 3ither red herrings or so small that almost barely noticeable or at that particular point of the story meaningless.
Therefore we should not judge a book by its cover. The AOs by default are not crap, and manga based ones by default are not excellent episodes. I noticed that several people here think exactly otherwise - AOs are always a crap unless the film director made a mistake, and manga based ones are always gods no matter how shitty particular chapter was.

Re: 2016 November Anime Episodes Schedule COMPLETED! (4 AO)
@Nemomon: I think if people watch manga-based episode just because the manga-based contains some plot hints, they had gave up long ago, same with the manga. Plot elements are always exciting but the case itself is important. Manga-based episodes are always more tricky, even the quickest ones. Sure they are not all excellent but no manga-based episodes make me feel insulted like the alien case and several cases like that. You said manga-based episodes are equally boring right? The latest Nagano case is certainly one of the best cases in the entire series. How many manga-based case are that intense and unpredictable? Any AO case can reach such a level? And characters in AO are more natural? In "The man who dies twice" case, Kogoro saw Conan used his voice and did nothing. I cannot consider that natural.
