I've got a slight inspiration for Harry Potter Self-insert so I'm sort of writing it right now.

Re: What's on your mind?
I've heard alot of good things about "The Secret History" (translated in finnish as "Gods celebrate at night") by Donna Tartt, that it's a fantastically written mystery/crime novel and a thriller. It's about a group of college students that plan a murder.
Problem with it is that it's apparently over 600 pages, and it's not really a mystery as the juicy stuff is spoiled early on and the last 300 pages are a drawn-out epilogue. The idea sounds great and I'd read a story like that just to see that manipulative writing style at work but only if the story was 1/4 as long. I'm still reading this one book called By the Time You Read This and it's 200 pages too long. Countless pages are just spent on building up the atmosphere and the story is guidebook. I should do a review of this.

Re: What's on your mind?
My brain is fried. It has been fried since Thursday evening, and I have not gotten a chance to relax and recover and un-fry my brain. This past weekend was the local anime convention. (The one about two miles from my house.) I spent most/all of the weekend with my little brother, wandering around as Hikaru (me) and Wizard (him) from Angelic Layer. He kept crashing into me, mostly a matter of bumped shoulders. We both had big puffy shoulders. ~_~* And he's not very good at knowing where he is in space. Fun weekend, yeah, but stressful. ~_~*
I barely got to see Archi at all, between me being at the con and him being at work (3rd shift). Because of the costume, I couldn't wear most of my jewelry (security blanket...) and I couldn't carry my purse. So I had this little waist-pouch thing (called a 'Bandi') that Mom had gotten for both of us. (I had one and my brother had one.) The things are nice enough, but they REALLY don't hold much. Phone, wallet, not much else. I managed to tuck meds, a stylus/pen hybrid, and a handkerchief into mine, but it ended up kind of a tight fit. No space for things I normally carry, like paper (in the form of a notebook) or a backup charger for my phone. The phone that kept running out of battery. And everything else I'd normally have with/near me was on the other side of town, for all my ability to reach it. ~_~* Also it's October in New England, so it's starting to get kinda chilly. My costume involved a sleeveless mock-turtleneck leotard, bike shorts, thigh-high socks, and arm-warmers that came up past my elbows. All of this stuff fairly thin, though I did double-layer the leotard... mostly because if I don't put something under it my bra shows through. The socks are slightly thicker, but wouldn't be terrifically uncomfortable in late May/early June, and everything else is T-shirt weight. NOT appropriate to the weather. And since I had giant puffs on my shoulders (stuffed with polyfil) I couldn't wear a coat. Fortunately I had a wrap-thing that worked great for taking the bus down on Friday morning, but it's not something I'd want to carry around all day. Without it... COLD!
I'll see what I can do about getting pictures up later... I think I want to hit the sack now. ~_~* There are pictures up on my G+ account, though. I'm "Miaka Kirino" there.

I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.
The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!
