Love this arc!!
Also just curious, but what do you all think about Ran's birthday? Gosho mentioned previously in an interview that there's some importance behind why he hasn't revealed it yet. I'm thinking part of why it's important is that there's a possibility if Ran does in fact know Conan = Shinichi, her birthday may be a case where this is confirmed. Any theories?

Re: Towards Ran's Next Suspicion Arc Discussion
That' interesting I've heard people say she knows he is Conan. There's also evidence to support that like the fingerprints and how she knew his blood type. Conan asks people a lot of questions especially when they know something random or something they shouldn't, yet her never questioned her on it. The obstacle however is interesting considering that the guy writing the story is facing it. That to me says one of two things. Either he's waiting for that reveal to be very special, considering that her birthday will definitely push their relationship further along. Maybe that's when she answers his confession and he wants it done on a special occasion, like the 1000th chapter that's being counted down to. The other thing I can think is relationships between characters relative to the plot. Her birthday is clearly a big deal to him so it could be multiple characters revaluations happen, like Heiji and Kazuha. Who knows with Gosho though lol.

This is clearly a setup for Ran's next awaited suspicion arc.
From her interaction with Vermouth, to now this...? Today is truly a good day for DC, and onwards!

And what better to involve in the case that will feature File 1000 than Ran's current suspicions, ongoing as early as just after her last suspicion arc, back in 2004?

Re: Towards Ran's Next Suspicion Arc Discussion
I'm happy that he decided to go with the last style of "suspicion arc", where he sets it up until the finale. Ran might finally become, and do something interesting if she adds all her experience into the mix(including all the unusual amount of knowledge she has about the plot characters[That-FBI-guy/Sera's-dead-brother-Akai-Shuichi/Subaru, That-disguised-kidnapper-calls-her-"angel"/Chris-can-disguise-and-is-involved-with-bad-people/Sharon, Natsuko's-accident/Jodie-is-still-in-Japan/"Angel"-in-Jodie's-photo, Shinichi-ran-after-that-man-in-black, The-woman-that-saved-DB-had-a-mystery-train-pass-ring/Haibara-is-mature, girl-with-Sera-is-familiar/Sera-acted-as-if-Ran-met-her-mom]).DCUniverseAficionado wrote:And what better to involve in the case that will feature File 1000 than Ran's current suspicions, ongoing as early as just after her last suspicion arc, back in 2004?
When she remembers Akai-flashback --> "That FBI guy = Akai Shuichi" and, if she puts thought into it(although unlikely), "Sera's mother = That girl with Sera"

Oh, yeah—if she realizes that, maybe it'll finally trigger, "Oh, that's who Subaru Okiya reminded me of!" Especially after she kicked him in the face and he just walked it off (638–640/510–511)—Masumi and Shuichi/Subaru haven't interacted since Yusaku Kudo's Cold Case (812–814/690–691)... maybe Ran can be the one to break the ice... and maybe we can get Shiho/Ai in there, too.MeiTanteixX wrote:I'm happy that he decided to go with the last style of "suspicion arc", where he sets it up until the finale. If she makes the connection between Mary back then and Mary now, it won't be just Shinichi/Conan who appears, in Ran's eyes, to be a younger version of someone she knows—if she makes a connection between Shiho/Ai and her older self (maybe even with a second look at the woman who saved the DBs (815–817/699–700))... one's an incident, two's a coincidence, and three's a pattern... I can see her even more suspicious of everything if she just makes the connection with Mary, let alone Shiho/Ai.
Last time she got involved, she saved Shiho/Ai... who knows what might happen, next time?

Do you think the file 1000 would compile Ran's birthday and RUM's unveiling or another BO tie up??

Bumpy.
While Red Orchid hasn't posted here since Feburary, the Red Thread Group added a new pic considering the Kyoto Storyline.

Imo. they might be really onto something. This would actually kinda explain, why Ran is so "forgiving" for Shinichi disappearing again.
(Plus, Shinichi made far too many mistakes in Kyoto.)
Also, Ran's behavior in the Eri SOS Case at the end.....yeah felt weird.
But imo. there will be no final conclusion to this until Ran's Birthday. (Which will be imo. in 2019.)
Kyoto was a big step up in the Shinran relationship, but they never were alone together, to talk things privatly.
This might however happen, when Ran "forces" Shinichi into a date, that he can't refuse, her birthday.....

Yeah, it seemed really strange for her to suddenly be on him like she was in the last suspicion arc (479–483/398–400), and then for her to just drop it so quickly—to me, this is Gosho reminding us that, yes, Ran's suspicions are in play... and it's just a question of when they will come into play.S.Vineyard wrote:Bumpy.

So I guess he'll keep that spare APTX antidote capsule until then—he could use it very soon after the most recent case, but he may very well use it at a much later date, instead.
