This "Episode One: Chisakunatta Tantei" will be going back on the plot-line of the beginning of the manga but will also add a lot of scenes showing what characters who weren't there at the time were actually doing. First teaser to be released September 17.
The story will apparently take up from the moment when Shinichi broke Ran's cellphone, promising her they'd go together to Tropical Land as a compensation. In that park they cross paths with Gin, withouth suspecting that Shinichi will soon face the infamous shrinking incident the series started from, back in 1996. But what's more...?
The story will apparently include scenes we haven't seen in the manga, giving us a chance to get to know what happened elsewhere that same fateful day when Shinichi's shrinking happened. The project will be entirely realized under Aoyama's supervision.

"I wonder if there really is a God...
If such an entity really existed, wouldn't all honest, hard-working people be happy?"
I think that it's a really cool idea, I am really looking forward to it.
The last two 2-hour special episodes we got were really good, quite enjoyable in my opinion.
We might get the back story of how Gin got his hands on the APTX 4869, we might get to see shiho since she appears's in the poster.
I really looking forward to it, this is definitely going to be intersting, can't wait for winter to come.
GIN X SHIHO <3<3<3
VERMOUTH IS SEXY AS HELL !!
Elena Miyano and Atsushi ..... APTX 4869 & Silver Bullet
I wonder if the characters will at least be coherent in the old and the new scenes. Kogoro was much more of a smoking flirter, Ran much more violent, Genta closer to being a bully more than anything, Conan much more expressive about how much he hates being a kid etc.

To be fair, none of those things happened so frequently early on that they necessarily have to be represented in these new scenes (barring maybe Conan).
Now, if Genta is nothing but "lol eel" and Kogoro is being successful, that would suck.
Shiho being shown is easily the most interesting part.

Her being shown, before her introduction (File 1–File 175/Episode 1–Episode 128) and at any point before the Roller Coaster Murder (File 1/Episode 1) is going to be interesting... and Gosho's supervising it, at least. I'm very interested in seeing this, and very surprised that this is even happening.
It being a TV special, at least we won't have to wait as long to watch it as we have to wait for the movies... as for the subs, though... I do recall The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa (2014) taking a long time to get subbed.

If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully the modern take on episode 1 will be good animation wise & it'll put in very little, if any DB scenes.
I'm also looking forward to the supposed Shiho scenes. She might only be mentioned by Gin though.
It may be kind of interesting to see the first few episodes remade so as the events described take place in 2016 instead of 1996.
Then again, the show does a pretty good job at not making cases too "attached to a certain year", so I'll probably be surprised at how little the twenty year gap affects this, other than simply the modern animation.

If Shiho is involved, the plot of the manga has to be boosted to reveal something about her past first. Or she will appear briefly and the promo is just a PR trick.
Most of it will probably be when Conan was Shinichi, Sherry was investigating around after Conan took the APTX so if we're lucky the Haibara scenes (tend to be many of those in the specials) will be her in her adult form. But since it will probably promote the 20th movie, Amuro is hopefully in it.

You shouldn't forget that it might also be promoting the 21st movie and might have some Heiji X Kazuha scenes
Honestly I don't really care about any of the other stuff as much as the Haibara related scenes because I think those would be the most relevant and interesting within the episode's time frame..
