I am interested to read akai's flashback
for Ran the picture means that she saw the kidnapper since vermouth face in the back there If it was that she just remembered the voice it would have been more accurate to draw the flashback of her protecting haibara as that was all she had seen if so
I don't know if I was able to explain what I think correctly though ;D and maybe gosho doesn't think in that way too ;D
Spoiler:
Just because there is a picture of Vermouth in the background, doesn't mean Ran actually remembers her face. In the Aquarium flashback, there is a picture of Eri shown in the background when Shinichi talks about her, but we know for sure that he doesn't remember her face at that point, so he couldn't have thought of that image and it was just for the readers. Ran never turned around once she got to Haibara, so she couldn't have seen Vermouth screaming like this.

Come to think of it, how did Shinichi even forget how his future mother-in-law looked like? I know he had just got himself shrunk, but in the case Eri first appeared he solved a case with her and had no idea who lawyer Kisaki was
Well, to be fair, he hadn't seen her since he was actually six years old. I sure as hell didn't remember what the parents of my elementary school friends looked like after ten years of not seeing them. (plus his mind being tainted by jealousy and probably not knowing her maiden name as ATEM mentioned)

here's a quick review of file 956!
Spoiler:
page 3:

we find out that the handwriting belongs to Hado.

page 4:

the fact that his face has slightly changed probably hints to the fact he was on drugs (marijuana maybe).

page 5 and 6:

Enjo confirms that he didn't get a plastic surgery. Hado got married 16 yrs ago. Hado had an argument with Fuse about how he entered the company, and afterwards announced the "Asaca" song 17 yrs ago. Since he was angry about Fuse not telling him about his crush on Enjo, maybe Hado was planning on proposing to Enjo. Hado threatened Fuse that he would quit because he didn't want to ruin their hobby and work relationship if he married her while Fuse still had a crush on her. But since he realized that Fuse really had feelings for Enjo, even if Fuse did deny the joke was true, for the sake of his career, he decided to break it off with Enjo and instead just announce his new song "Asaca", that might be about Enjo. one year later, he marries someone else and makes it clear that he is giving Enjo to Fuse. He then get's depressed of his decision and starts taking drugs. the fact that he used to write lyrics all night long before he debuted, but now writes them right before the concert, indicates that he probably changed his routine because he takes drugs during night time.

page 7:

Hado's preference of dying in the stage might be a subtle hint to that he might be in death's door because of a sickness that came from his drug abuse. That explains his weird post in this context.

page 8:

Akai tells Scotch to give up. Scotch was probably attempting to kill himself and Akai tried to stop him and try giving him a different option. Scotch makes his decision and lets Akai take the honor of killing a traitor.

page 11:

Conan probably notices that the knots is done differently from someone who has experience. Enjo is probably the murderer.

page 12:

Hado was desperately trying to chase Hirokazu away because he didn't want him near the hall for some reason. Maybe he was already aware that Enjo was gonna kill him, hence writing an "I'm sorry" note to her in advance.

page 13 and 14:

Hado was probably planning to get more drugs after the concert from that other band member. "half of something was dropped" is probably referring to the trick. Enjo's height is probably half the three meters. Maybe she somehow dropped her own weight + toolbox's weight to hoist Hado up, using the chair and wire in some form. Gloves was used to not leave finger prints and the baseball was used to get through the rope over the lighting bars after you throw and pull the baseball, which is attached to it with a string (hence the small hole on the rope).

page 15-16:

Okiya and Amuro notices the way the knot was tied by the workers, compared to the excess rope that was tied by the culprit, and the chair has hole in it, hinting it was a part of the hoist trick, since a rope/wire probably went through it.

page 17:

Ran finally getting the awaited screen-time she deserves! will Ran also remember the picture of her, in jodie's apartment, that also had "angel" inscribed in it? will we get a Ran and Jodie interaction soon? can't wait to see her behavior towards Asuza in the next case, same goes for Bourbon towards Okiya!

You mean Scotch pulled the trigger with Shuichi's/Dai's finger?

I can't think of another option Shuichi/Dai could've given Scotch without revealing himself as an infiltrator, as well.

Not too weird for Shinichi to forget her after all that time. Even before the divorce he probably only met her a few times.

On the note of the current situation:
Spoiler:
After reading the flashbacks, it seems pretty obvious that Scotch committed suicide and had Akai take the credit for it, kind of like how Ethan Hondou committed suicide. I'm guessing he wasn't supposed to know the BO was on to him, so if he killed himself that would imply an information leak and put suspicion on his associates inside the BO. Having someone kill him and accidentally destroy his phone in the process would be safer for those left behind. Not sure why Akai didn't tell Amuro though. It could have been a request by Scotch to protect Amuro's conscience, since the idea that Scotch committed suicide to protected him might make him feel guilty for Scotch's death.

I don't know why the suicide possibility isn't occurring to Amuro though.

Spoiler:
Shuichi/Dai had his codename, at this point. Thus, I'd say this wasn't too far off from him being outed, himself, so who knows if he had an opportunity?

Rei/Tooru seems to be having a far worse case of Shiho's/Ai's feelings from when she first met Shinichi/Conan, and got emotional over the fact that he couldn't save Akemi (179–181/129). Plus, there are the differences between that situation and this one.

He might've just been acting as a former BO comrade who still wanted to help him, even if he knew Scotch was a spy. Scotch might've thought, "I might as well give the killing honor to this nice fella" :P

Spoiler:
If Scotch really committed suicide and Akai got the credit, it could sort of explain how Akai figured out the Hondou situation.

Amuro knows that scotch had pulled the trigger himself but he is accusing akai of forcing him to commit suicide by his own gun and even wondered why a skillful man like akai used such way to kill him maybe amuro want to be believe that scotch was forced to commit suicide without his own will so he can find someone to blame for his friend's death a psychological thing I mean

Spoiler:
After reading the text spoilers, does Ran knows it's a fake Azusa? And now we know that Scotch killed himself, we know that the main point of the Bourbon arc is based on a misunderstanding, this is very bad writing.

My first post, thank you for having me here :)
Spoiler:
赤井はスコッチの自殺を止めようとしたが
スコッチが迫る足音に怯え自らを撃った
胸元の携帯電話を破壊するために

From the text spoilers, it seems that Rei accidentally caused Scotch's death, even though Akai had tried his best to stop Scotch from committing suicide. Maybe Akai was trying to persuade Scotch to abort the suicide plan and come up with another solution, but all of the sudden they heard (Rei's) running footstep sound. Scotch then quickly made his decision to die and pulled the trigger, which surprised Akai and there was nothing else Akai could do.

For 7-8 years we got a 'Bourbon hates Akai so much, he's a huge threat to him' and then in one case we get 'lol no, I was trolling, it's a misunderstanding'. Awful writing indeed. Makes the Bourbon story seems even more pointless than it already appeared after Scarlet.

not the bourbon arc many things that are happening seem pointless to me and just to extend DC for more and more years but I decided not to judge before we have an end if we are gonna have one somedayxD and see what all this is gonna reach at the end to be able to criticise properly

Spoiler:
But in 956, Bourbon thinks to himself that Akai should've prevented Scotch from committing suicide, which seems to be the reason behind his hatred and that's what happened apparently (as far as we can tell from the text spoilers), Scotch killed himself and Akai didn't prevent it.

Sorry for the late post: was out most of the morning.
Spoiler:
File 957: The truth of betrayal

Amuro asks a forensic to give him a rope identical to the one used in the murder and demonstrates the trick.
He uses a "transport knot" [a type of knot used to tie ropes when transporting things] and easily lifts Takagi by usey the pulley principle.
Only the manager, who'd worked in a freightening company before, can do this kind of knot but she's NOT the culprit. She did it to camouflage Rokumichi's SUICIDE.
(He'd originally died at a lower height).

ASACA turns out to be 2 girls: it seem that Rokumichi picked the name based on both of them knowing they were pregnant at the "Asa" "Ca"fe. But Rokumichi got to know they'd had a miscarriage after 17 years and added lyrics to an unpublished song... Supposedly. Because he killed himself without coming up with the lyrics. The reporter says that he won't make an article out of this: this type of stuff doesn't fit with a rock n' roller.

The manager is arrested for damaging the corpse: Megure mutters that she'll surely try to defer the prosecution to extenuation. The stuff with the backband member having drugs on him has already leaked to the net.

Akai did try to stop Scotch from killing him but Scotch got afraid at hearing the approaching footsteps and shoot himself: to destroy the phone he had on his chest pocket.

Ran asks Azusa who she really is but Azusa shoots back "don't get further involved" and doesn't answer.
Vermouth (thinking): "Because you're... one of my 2 treasures... the only ones I have in the world..."

Side-note:A lot of truths have been revealed...! Next number: THAT great detective appears!
"I shall revive again, again AND AGAIN!"
