Re: Identity of Sera's middle brother (Spoilers)
Hey Guys!!!
Honestly i never did understood masumi family ( brothers and stuff) the shuukuchi/kichi/kuichi(no offense)
But i have been lately noticing something very strange..
WHY IS SERA REFERRING CONAN AS A WIZARD?
There is also a message in which sera's brother asks her if she met the wizard(She also said her brother was a great detective)

Re: Identity of Sera's middle brother (Spoilers)
@geetp007: we don't know yet. But it could be that Sera once saw Shinichi solve a case using one of his cool setups and thought he was a wizard because he did cool stuff. The message Sera got during the bowling case surely meant to ask Sera if he'd met Conan/Shinichi already.
But this is speculation: insofar we don't have enough info on that.

Re: Identity of Sera's middle brother (Spoilers)
I'll copy paste what I posted on DCW:
The middle brother is Shukichi Haneda, and to me it's very obvious, the reason why is because: He doesn't look like Sera/Akai as he looks like their father, he is 28, the perfect age for the middle brother since his classmates from high-school are all 27-29, his skin color matches the skin color that the middle brother has, his name is very similar to Shuichi, in Japan they sometimes name children by similar names, he is very smart, smart enough for Sera to put him as smarter than Shuichi(yes, you might think that he isn't smarter than Akai, but the fact is, in the case he was introduced, he showed that he's even smarter than Conan/Shinichi, although in one case, Yusaku Kudo's cold case, Akai clearly outclassed Conan/Shinichi, but at the same time, Akai says that Conan is better than him at making plans, so that makes them equals to me, and for all we know Sera might've not seen the full extent of Akai's intelligence, and that was in the past anyway, people get smarter by time), he trusted Conan from the first case even though he never met him before(as Conan), the middle brother knows about Shinichi since the Wizard is most likely Shinichi, and the middle brother asked Sera about him, since Shukichi's memory is very good, he would remember child Shinichi's face and know that he is Conan, the middle brother also knew of Conan, that fits with Shukichi because he just met Conan a few cases before he messaged her about him, and finally when he won the Shogi tournament, Shuichi seemed happy as he smiled when he read the news, and the unknown child was also very happy in an unusual way after watching the match. While some people say that he can't be the middle brother because he is famous and Sera should know about his whereabouts, the thing is though, Yumi, of all people didn't know that he was a famous Shogi player, despite dating him, and the detective boys including Haibara didn't realize he was the Taiko Meijin until they looked carefully at the picture, besides Sera probably isn't into Shogi so she probably doesn't know the Taiko Meijin.

Went to http://manhua.dmzj.com/kenan/ to get Volume scans for the sleeves from Volume 67 and Volume 81, as well as the original releases. The site doesn't have Volume 85, so there's just the original file scan of File 899. Does anyone have Volume 85 scans for File 899, Page 2?

It looks like the "Sera" name is written directly below the Father Akai name, however the name is switched around
The "Sera" part looks like it is below the Given name of the Akai Father. Meaning that the mother's name might be written
in the format (Given name) (Family name) that people in the Western half of the world use. (I assume that it's just another
hint that the mother is foreign born?)
As for when the envelope contents were created, Shuukichi only thought of the Shogi title plan "Several years ago",
and only gave Yumi the envelope on a Christmas between "Several years ago" and now. He was probably a bit older than 18 at that point.
I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.

But, is Shukichi allowed to write his mother name in a western format, even in a japanese official document, where usually the surname precede the given name? or is it no big deal switching the format?jimmy_kud0_tv2 wrote:

I guess, Gosho probably wanted to hide the given name part, (most likely written in katakana)...thus he switched without putting thought about it.

in 947 Shuukichi suddenly has a white cellphone that is only black on the side with the screen on it, where as he had a phone that was black on all sides back in the second Ramen Case

Re: Identity of Sera's middle brother (Spoilers)
Apologies for the double-post.
Here's a comparison of Shukichi's two phones in File 929 and File 947:

If he's the one who contacted Masumi in 860–861/744–745, it wasn't with the white phone, since the display differs from the middle brother's phone from 860 (four white shapes—the two on the edges smaller than the two in the middle—near the bottom of mid bro's phone and only three near the bottom of Shukichi's white phone—all of which were of similar sizes):
File 860, Page 16

File 947, Page 13

Shukichi's shogi outfit in 945–947 is different than the one he wore in 899–902—here's a comparison of the sleeves:
File 899, Page 11 (Scanalation Version)

File 947, Page 14 (Scanalation Version)

And Let's not forget Shuichi's/Subaru's Sleeve:
File 702, Page 16

And Mid Bro's Sleeve (again):
File 860, Page 16

I'd say that it's more likely this is Shukichi in File 860, and that he was wearing his shogi outfit from 945–947, rather than his shogi outfit from 899–902. The white part of Shukichi's shogi outfit sleeve is more of a match to the white part of the middle brother's sleeve than the white part of Shuichi's/Subaru's outfit from 700–704 (as in, the white part of Shukichi's sleeve curves more like the white part middle brother's sleeve than the white part of Shuichi's/Subaru's sleeve does).
As of right now, there are three possibilities (In ascending order of probability, in my opinion):
1) Shukichi was the one in contact with Masumi in 857–858/740–741, 860–861/744–745, 875/756 and 929 (and maybe in 800/674, though whether it was him or Mary is anyone's guess)
2) Shuichi/Subaru was the one in contact with Masumi in 857–858/740–741, 860–861/744–745, 875/756 and 929 (and in 800/674, it was Mary who contacted Masumi)
3) Both Shuichi/Subaru and Shukichi have each contacted Masumi (Shukichi in 860–861/744–745; Shuichi/Subaru in 929)
Here's a comparison of Shukichi's two phones in File 929 and File 947:

Re: Identity of Sera's middle brother (Spoilers)
So in recent chapters, Gosho has connected Mary directly to the plot of the Rum arc while hinting at her other mysteries, thus fully establishing her significance. That leaves only the middle brother as the sole current 'mystery' character in the manga who seems largely irrelevant to everything. I hope that there's a reason it was necessary to introduce another Akai sibling (and I actually like Shuukichi; I'm just wondering why he had to be anything besides Yumi's ex).
