If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.”

After I think OP 34 they stopped using the characters and settings and switched them to those blue screens. The songs they use now are honestly better but the effort from the animation team on the other hand... No...
The endings are usually better for some reason. Off the top of my head from the recent ones I can remember Rain Man and Ed45 with Ran's backstory and other stuff there, ED40 is in like every Conan AMV (best friend), Muteki na Heart and eds37 and 38. For some reason I liked 38 really much now that I look back. And obviously ED43

Hmm OP 38 was a nice step to the right direction though. Wonder what happened with that. Probably too much effort.

I'm sure someone who knows the ins and outs of the TMS animation team (or just Japanese animation, in general) could give a more precise and detailed answer for us as to why (that is, if someone like that hasn't already, and I'm just not aware of it, which could very well be the case).k11chi wrote:After I think OP 34 they stopped using the characters and settings and switched them to those blue screens.
