What's on your mind?

If you have some randomness to share that you can't post elsewhere, this is the place to do it.

So You say "chinese raw" sounds better? :D
My dad’s a soldier blue I’ll be a soldier, too
When I grow older you will see me rescue you
I’ll teach you this old song so you can sing along
When I am dead and gone the day won’t be so long.

Um, no. That's exactly what we were talking about. :-X

"Raw" means unedited, untampered, untranslated. Kind of like with food, where it means uncooked. The Chinese DC files, for example, are a Chinese scanlation. There's nothing raw about them. The fact that you don't understand them doesn't make them any less of a scanlation. The Japanese files are raw not because they are Japanese, but because they're the original, untranslated files.
(If we were talking about a Chinese comic, the Chinese version would be the 'raw' and the Japanese one would be the 'scanlation.')

Yeah, yeah, I know that :D. I was just joking that for some people there's no difference between Japanese or Chinese, because they can't understand either one, or perhaps they even can't tell whether they're actually Chinese or Japanese. Back when I still was playing MtG I was known as "the one who can distinguish Chinese cards from Japanese cards and Korean cards" because for everybody else they were written in a "skew language" xD ;).

Why does Gosho spend his time playing Kancolle? I would have imagine him playing Ace Attorney of Professor Layton instead

though maybe he doesn't have a 3DS...

I love using our smart TV to watch Youtube while I'm writing/nuzlocking/sitting with my feet on ice, but I am going to brain my dad with my 3DS if he doesn't stop walking in and going "Okay but what's his real job?" while I'm watching Markiplier because I must have explained Youtubers who make a living out of their videos fifty times. Stop being snobbish about how people make their living, for pity's sake. I think that it's nice that he can make a living doing something he loves and entertaining nine million people in the process.

My thumb got out of its place last week's Monday and it's still very much not working. Also our lieutenant is so annoying. I just hope I have free weekend and that my thumb will be ok someday

Mental Radio has been on weird all week....
I need to get back to playing Persona 4 undub, because I need to know how all the characters address one another, which is something that doesn't translate.
I spent all of today goofing off, reading random fanfics.... I didn't get housework done and I didn't get story research done. I did get three squares finished, but I should probably do more because I didn't do any squares yesterday and I don't know what I'll have time for tomorrow because work.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

For the first time in a long time, I was so mad this morning I was shaking. Luckily, it was from a phone conversation and not someone in front of me. It didn't help that I'd already had another awful phone conversation less than an hour earlier. It was a rough morning at work, but it got better in the afternoon.

Argh... headaches are not helpful for anything. And the analgesic I took doesn't seem to have affected much, even though it was a strong analgesic (one expects Viccodin to have an effect on pain).
Also, Shadow Yukiko is a major difficulty spike. Especially when you've forgotten how to fight her (Golden toned the fight down quite a bit) and you're used to having all the NG+ stuff. I am playing the undub to get a feel for the character interactions and a better idea of how they address one another (something that totally doesn't translate). However, this has essentially been an exercise in "go back in time about 5 years" because I haven't actually played the original game without NG+ since the first time I played it. And I'm on Easy Mode! (I am not actually good at MegaTen games, even Persona.) I may have to go back and redo the fight against Shadow Yukiko with the strategy that my husband used to get past her pretty easily (remove weaknesses to her attack types), but I do not have the focus to do that today... For now, I should go back to watching the anime and finish sewing squares together... that blanket needs to be finished by this time next week at the absolute latest.
