What's on your mind?

If you have some randomness to share that you can't post elsewhere, this is the place to do it.

It's hard to stand like soldier as you would like to just go somewhere to be alone and cry. Our leading group changed to another and I don't like it so much. The first one was joyful and I knew most of them. And they did what they were said to do.
And we won't have real free weekend in next two weeks.

Miraculous Ladybug. It'll start in September(approx.) and I can't wait for it! It seems so amazing.

I began rewatching Power Ranger Mystic Force. Oh the good memories. I used to watch it in secret from my mum.

Well, that last kana lesson took rather longer than the rest of them did. Mostly because of interruptions. First my pencil ran out of lead and I had to go hunting to find more lead (found some in my desk, which wasn't the first place I looked). Then I hit ka and the image that goes with it... book said the keyword is 'car' (I live close enough to Boston to recognize 'kah' as the common vehicle people tend to drive around in). The image to remember for drawing, though, is two cars dressed up in fencing gear for a match, with a dog as the ref. (Well, that's not quite the way the book put it but whatever.) It said to picture cars you know, because that will make it stick better. So I managed to end up with an image in my mind of my car (gray Corrolla) and my little brother's car (red Chevvy sedan--not sure of the model) all geared up for a kendo match, with my sister-in-law's dog (a Yorkie) as the ref. Or possibly my Mom's cat running away, as the 'dog' part of the image is supposed to be a 'tail'. I about fell over laughing, and I couldn't write for a good couple minutes because I was laughing too hard to hold the pencil correctly!

I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

It'll whine at you about registering after a while, but I think it can generally be ignored. If not, at least the license it wants isn't terrifically pricey (about $15 last I checked).

OMM: I don't like the katakana. ~_~* Why must so many of them look so very similar? I'm probably drawing a few of them wrong in my efforts to make some of them look different from one another. ('so' and 'n', 'tsu' and 'shi'...) And then the book gives you nonsense from time to time, like that 'ma' and 'mu' are written like the hiragana versions... um, they don't look anything alike! How are they alike? I don't get it. I can draw them, but I don't understand what you mean about them being 'alike'. ~_~* It's worse than bad keywords because that's all the instructions you get on them. ~_~* (The 'keyword' given for 'a' is 'otter', which doesn't sound like 'a' at all. Yet I totally get the 'throwing daggers at a no-parking sign' bit, which is how you draw the hiragana.)

It's funny, for me the katakana was much easier to learn than hiragana. Katakana most of times are single lines that are making a character. In hiragana most of the characters consist of some circled parts, or at least are quite irregular to write and remember.

Not sure if this will help You, but I'm distinguishing "shi" and "n" from "tsu" and "so" because "shi" and "n" are like they would be "lying" while "tsu" and "so" are standing.

About "mu". Try to remember that this is the sound of a cow, and the cow is "muuu-ing" to the Heavens, and this is why "ma" has the stroke at the bottom while "mu" at the top.

I really dream of learning Japanese, but going further than hiragana and katakana makes my head blow up :( I tried to use some video games with the translation aggregator program attached as a base for starting, have already made a long list of hieroglyphs and wrote down every word I didn't know from the characters' dialogues, but when I try to memorize all that it seems that my memory works in such a way as if I had Alzheimer disease.

And on the language topic: I've been trying to learn Korean. From what I've seen of it and Japanese, it's muuuuuch simpler. We'll see if I continue to think that way.

Well, I grew up speaking English, which is generally considered the second-hardest language to learn (after Mandarin Chinese). So I figure I can do pretty much anything. The book I'm using to learn kana is working pretty well, in spite of all the minor hiccups I keep having (I think some of them may relate to accent?). I have no trouble drawing the katakana for 'so', 'n', 'tsu', and 'shi' correctly. My issue is with telling them apart in print. I've ordered the first of 3 total kanji learning books by the same author as my kana book. I'm planning to start my 'practice' on kanji with a bilingual edition of Cardcaptor Sakura manga. (I have the first 6 books in bilingual and then the Tokyopop release of the final six. Eventually I'd like to get hold of the rest of the series in bilingual, if I can find them.) Once I get that down, I'll move to Conan because I have access to scanlations and that one includes furigana (CCS doesn't, apparently because it is bilingual). To test myself, I will then move on to the Sailor V manga, which I don't have scanlations for.
Of course, at the same time I need to actually learn the language as it's spoken. Anime is not entirely a bad idea for that, but it's not exactly the best either. I pick up random bits of things from different anime.
