I kinda think some family/lover relation is weak. And since Bourbon can blackmail her, I think her connection as a lover/family would prevent that?

Too.Amuro said that Vermouth would have some hard times at cleaning up the mess caused by leaking her secret. What possibly bad can be in the fact that Vermouth is Anokata's relative? I don't think it would cause any mess if the other members of the BO would know that.

Daughter seems weird, because of the whole "not aging" thing making
Vermouth much older than we think she is. If she was the daughter of the boss,
that would imply that the boss would be even that much older.

Went with the daughter option. What if she is an illegitimate child of boss and someone else is the legitimate one? That would cause a bit of unrest within BO assuming that the legitimate child is also ranked high. Perhaps no one suspects it because boss is Japanese and Vermouth looks Caucasian. No evidence whatsoever as of yet. I can't go with the mother option because it sounds weird to me to have the boss talk/text to his mother like that. The power dynamics don't seem right, but it is still possible. Not lover of boss either. Why would boss let her sleep with Gin if they were lovers?

Vermouth being Anokata's relative can have dramatic consequences.
If Vermouth is his mother, it will be completely illogical for the BO member because they think she is 29, so they'll automatically assume that the boss is a child. They'll discover that she is not aging and the Boss will be in a very dangerous situation due to his child condition (if some agents want to take his place).

So I voted "she's the boss's mother".

You have a good point, but I can see three holes in this.

First, nobody (but Rum) knows who the Boss is and where they are. Even if they would find out that the Boss is a child, they first would need to find them and then kill them.

Second, it might be quite hard for the BO members to believe that Vermouth is the Boss' mother, and the Boss is a child. Especially that they don't know who the Boss really is. Therefore if Vermouth's secret is revealed, it must be supported by really good proofs, or otherwise nobody really will believe it. Or believe that Vermouth cannot age.

Third, Amuro wants to take the BO down. If this secret would put the Boss into a dangerous position and cause a confussion in the BO, Amuro probably would use this secret a long time ago. But he didn't which means that revealing it won't affect the Boss. Also, I'm pretty sure that Amuro is aware that directly trying to put the Boss into a dangerous position isn't a safe move for him (and his friends who after all will have to deliver the secret to the BO, and probably the BO will be able to track them down), therefore again he probably would want to keep this secret to deal the final blow to the BO, instead of using it just when he will be killed or unable to contact his friends.

So while Your theory is quite nice, I think there's more to this than the simple fact that she's just their mother.
