Cider wrote:Finally saw Furious 7. Below are some thoughts and THEY CONTAIN SPOILERS so please consider yourself warned.

AGAIN, WARNING, REAL ACTUAL SPOILERS
Spoiler:
1. Oh god, the first 30 minutes were painful. Yes, I understand that this entire movie is a tribute to Paul but the amount of cheesy lines and weird shots were almost unbearable. Cheesy ooc level Sherlock bachelor party.
2. I love Jason Latham's character so much. I swear he is the villain with the best taste in car. Obviously I'm biased because I believe in European car gods but damn
3. THANK GOD THEY DIDN'T KILL DECKARD. it means he'll return right right right right
4. I could tell which shots were body doubles' and which ones were actual Paul's. :( so sad to see my first celebrity crush dead :(
5. The plot was pretty painful and all over the place. Not a fan tbh.
6. I hate how Gisele is dead. But maybe she'll pull another Letty, or better yet, a twin Gisele.
6. I forgot how much I hate Lucas Black and everything about Tokyo Drift but Han until this movie. Ughhhhh please don't bring him into the team later on. I really did let out a sigh of relief when I realized he wasn't gonna have a huge part in the movie. THANK YOU EUROPEAN CAR GODS.
7. Where was my post credits me needs my past post credits
8. One word: PHYSICS.
9. The whole emotional Letty thing... Didn't dig that either. But dressed up Letty is so cute
10. Roman's one liners were pretty good. Some did tend to last forever though.
11. DID I SAY I MISS GISELE COS I MISS GISELE
12. Dunno. Maybe it's the sound editing, or the new director, or the fact that everyone was just depressed after Paul died that the movie as a whole seemed like a an expensive cheesy Sharknado on steroids. How should I say it?
Right, Furious 7 feels much less edgy than the previous 3, and for good reasons, but still, I needed to say something. The parts shot before Paul died were great though.
13. RIP Paul :) I'd like to think he died happy because he lived a fulfilling life and passed in a fast car aka his favorite thing.
Good movie, don't watch it if you don't know the saga though because YOU WILL BE LOST.

Also, everyone should watch Taxi. Gisele Bundchen doesn't play a hot villain everyday ya'll.
Spoiler:
So I'm not the only one who thought of Conan Movie 5 when they flew the car through two buildings, then? Good. "Cars don't fly, Dom." Well, at least you realize this is supposed to be impossible.

I was glad Lucas Black wasn't in much of it, either. I'd only seen Tokyo Drift the day before I saw Furious 7, but his accent drove me UP THE WALL. It was way too overdone.

I liked Hobbs' daughter, though. She was great.

FINALLY managed to get the taxes squared away. Well, at least mostly. Still have to find the money to actually pay them, but now we have 4 months to come up with the cash. Somehow or other, we will work out how to find an extra half the rent before my birthday rolls around.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

This was super fun to record and I hope everyone watches it. It is way better than my own videos tbh (especially from an effort perspective).

My parents got a hold of Grandma's old car for me to practice driving in...but the car stalls so much it earned the name "The Stallmobile". Everyone in the family is aware that it's really good for nothing except maybe trading for a better car.

Rewatched today Spirited Away for the first time since I watched it as a kid in theaters. Watching this movie is such a magical journey, and I love everything about it.

Cider wrote:So here's a very suicidal thought: Taking Linear Algebra, Multivariate Calculus and Game Theory in the same 10 weeks.
Facebook senpai says I need to be "comfortable" (READ: Linear Algebra level 1337) with matrices if I want to do Applied Econometrics in the Fall. I'd rather get Multivariate Calculus because I've been putting it up for the past... 3 semesters. And I WANT to take Game Theory because if I don't I will never get to take it before I leave :(
Which means I won't get to take Macro with my God-prof, and I probably shouldn't take International Trade with barista-Queen - might be a better idea to only take one class in the first session while watching this to teach myself some linear algebra.

Don't get me wrong, I'm trying really hard to appreciate the fact that I go to one of the best schools in the entire world - I hung out at the library a bit today, borrowed some books, walked around campus, enjoyed some fresh air - but when it comes to classes I feel like a hoarder with a tiny room. All these classes I want to take, not enough brainpower for even half of them :( So sad

Also, showed my roommate the vid of the Princeton Linear Algebra class, saying "wow, he explains things so well" and she said "I know I wish I took his class I bet they have grade inflation there" <----- Please be my roommate again next year
To be honest, Linear Algebra is mostly just remembering which of matrix multiplication/projection/inversion/transposition, Gauss-Jordan elimination, and determinants need to be used to find the answer to the type of question you're solving. :-X

I'm finally unemployed, and so I finally have some life!

This is the first time in my life when I became very happy after losing a job. And before anybody will ask, my contract actually ended a while ago, but I had to stay in job anyway until I will train someone who will replace me.

So I might be more active soon :).
