For me, I think this is an okay couple... but not compared to CoAi. (That's why I specifically mentioned 'in case DC ends with ShinRan')

I ship them, but at the current moment I wouldn't like them together, of course a scene between them where Amuro mentions Shiho's mum would be nice. I think they would need to have more development to even consider them as a couple in the canon. So, for me it's more fanon shipping, I like the idea of them and I think they could be a great couple in canon, but I don't think it will happen.

If I were to pair Ai with someone, I would probably create a new character out of the blue for her - much like the characters who were paired up with Dr. Agasa & Detective Chiba, respectively.

No, because I want to see atleast one of the characters show some kind of affection for the other before I ship it. Plus, I already kinda ship Amuro with Azusa.
