What's on your mind?

If you have some randomness to share that you can't post elsewhere, this is the place to do it.

Knowing that people care and would miss you if you're gone is enough, sometimes. Rant all you need to :)

*also hugs BK*
Critical analysis is something I enjoy... when I'm explaining something that I myself have noticed and find interesting and want to talk about. Being told "here is a particular interpretation, talk about it" when I'm like "...but I don't read any of this into it and I don't think this is what it's really about--" "TWO THOUSAND WORDS ABOUT THIS INTERPRETATION" then it kinda sucks. IMO literary reading is fairly subjective and all you learn from being forced to write about an interpretation not your own is how to bullshit.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.
Death Cab For Cutie (my all time favorite band), Jenny Lewis AND The Script are coming to the area this summer, WHEN I PLAN TO BE HOME ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD.
I'm so tempted to take summer school just so I can go to these concerts, damn it >">

Well if any other light rock band from the past decade are playing, you can go to those instead. It'll probably be the same experience as the Script anyway. :V (and the Fray and One Republic now make songs with more energy, which is a nice bonus)

WTF? I thought that sort of thing only happened on this side of the pond??

OMM: I really don't want to be American (US Citizen) anymore. ~_~* For a lot of reasons, really, but the current trigger is taxes. It isn't that I don't want to pay taxes, I do. I understand why we have taxes, and that the government needs money to function and to help those who need assistance. I object to paying more than I can afford. I object to being significantly surprised by how much I owe. I object to the inability to get ahead. We worked more hours this year, but it only set us back farther. Last year we got $10 back. This year we owe about $550. That's more than half the month's rent on our flat! ($10, by contrast, would probably buy the two of us a decent lunch.) I was expecting to "owe Uncle Sam a pizza"--to be paying about $20 in taxes. Maybe as much as $40, which would be equivalent to a nice-ish dinner out.
How on earth did this happen? It's sort of a combination of things. My work hasn't been withholding federal taxes, because I started out making less than $1000 a year. (One month's rent on our current flat is $1000.) This past year I made nearly $2000, but the taxes weren't withheld. Something got messed up with Archi's withholding as well, and instead of taking 10% for taxes, they took out 5% or less. So, we hadn't had enough of our paychecks pulled for taxes. Then you add in that we made more than the estimate we'd given the Marketplace (health insurance in the US is nuts, to put it simply) and we have to pay back part of the subsidy we got, which is probably the bulk of what we owe.
So now I get to call the IRS and set up a payment plan (because there's no way we can afford the whole tax bill on a single month), and start calling other places to get whatever assistance we can. Food stamps, heating assistance, whatever we can get. We can't actually afford to live in this flat, not on just Archi's income (I'm lucky to make $250 in a month). Keeper had been helping us with the rent, but she's currently between jobs and in the process of getting her freelancing up and running.
Speaking of which, if anyone needs design help.... web design, graphic design, whatever. Keeper is VERY good at her work. She's also working on learning to create games.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Well I guess that means you can either join me outside or not sleep. These are clearly the only two possible options.

I listen to The Script but I wouldn't call them my favorite so :P the tickets are ridiculously cheap though, so I'm sad I'm missing it. Aside from DCFC, I would only call Muse my favorite.
