Just finished Psycho Pass and now watching Black Butler because I love the manga but haven't seen the anime.

Spoiler: Psycho-Pass thoughts

1. GOD DAMMIT UROBOCHI.
2. Ginoza really chooses the most inappropriate times for his daddy issues.
3. GOD DAMMIT UROBOCHI.
4. I don't know what it is with Urobochi and intimidating lesbians, but I love it.
5. GOD DAMMIT UROBOCHI.
6. The artwork, especially the aerial shots of the city at night, is SO DAMN PRETTY.
7. GOD DAMMIT UROBOCHI.
8. The sexual tension between Kogami and and Makishima is so thick that even my dad (who can't understand how people see romantic tension between Professor X and Magneto) yelled "KISS HIM" at the screen during their fights more than once.

12. I love literally everything about Akane. She's so cute BUT SO BADASS. Special love for her taking out Makishima by surprise whacking him in the head with a helmet after he'd just beaten Kogami in an epic martial arts battle. WITH A NAIL EMBEDDED IN HER LEG.

Majin Tantei Neuro is a series I think you guys would hate. It does some cool things but as a mystery series it is so worthless, omg. "Giving clues to the audience. hype THAT!" Like who decided that was a good idea...

it's way better when it becomes a weird vaguely action-y shonen series tbh

Watched season 1 of the Black Butler anime, idk if I'll watch season 2... it's not badly done, I just waaay preferred the direction that the manga went, and I think it handled some of the big revelations (like the servants' backstories and the Undertaker's identity) a lot more impressively.

Very, very impressed with J Michael Tatum's English accent, though.

Durarara is one of those things I didn't know I missed but I'm so glad it's back.

Now we just need to bring back Slayers.

Slayers is really a great series! Though my favorite one is and always will be the Slayers Try. I like how in Slayers Try pretty much neither side of conflict is wrong. Humans want to save their world, the gods want to kill the biggest threat - Dark Star - even if it would cost some lives or a planet. After all each war needs sacrifices.

I feel like I've lost a lot of interest in series that try for weird, unrelateable, shonen-y ideals and craziness. Durarara is one of the exceptions.

I've been recommended by an online friend to watch School Days. They say it's a deconstruction on the harem genre (and I'm a big deconstruction genre fan) but after watching Puella Magi the second time around, maybe I'll take a pass on it for a liiiiittle while.

School Days is deeply, deeply f*cked up. Not in a Gen Urobochi weird-symbolism-and-agonizing-emotional-dilemma way. In a "everybody is a bad person making bad life choices and the ending is REALLY REALLY REALLY HORRIBLE". Idk if I'd call it a deconstruction of the harem genre so much as an unhappy harem show that makes a sharp descent into horror in the last couple of episodes.
