Hasn't this been gone over about a million times? But no, cider, that was just something the english manga made up for no apparent reason. It's Gin.

I bet Akai is the older brother... gin is the younger ones.

that's not a good argument because if you remember in the conan drill they said that gin is/were in a relation or maybe a sexual relationship with vermouth who is more than 40 years old
in addition, despite gin loved shiho, this girl has been hated gin since the begining
& now when she realized that okiya is moroboshi dai, it seems that she starts having feeling towards him
it would be nice if they love each other (akai x ai)

Melkior was one of the Three Wise Men. So was Caspar, which I think they gave as Vodka's made-up codename. I kinda wonder who the Balthasar was going to be.

The derped names Caspar and Melchior were the mythical names of two of the three Wise Men, iirc the other was Balthasar.
