Re: Today's Bad Stories !
For the most part I'm pretty lax about times changing for things, so long as I have enough prior warning
But when things start to be willy nilly and all over the place the day of said event (in this case, leaving for a trip back home) I am not going to be happy. I'm the the type of person who takes a set time and builds my daily to-dos around that time, so when that set time starts to fluctuate my plans get messed up. A set time being a little later is not too much of a deal, again provided I have a little bit of warning (not "Oh hey you're packed already but we're actually going two hours from now oops") but EARLIER?
That makes me scramble, and scrambling makes me anxious, and anxiety puts me in a pissy mood.

Yeah, going against my schedule for the day is one of the best ways to guarantee I'm going to be pissed off. I do not handle that well.sonoci wrote:For the most part I'm pretty lax about times changing for things, so long as I have enough prior warning

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
It is apparently medical emergency day in my household, at least for the ladies.
This morning I was dealing with eye pain, but I couldn't do much about it until after my planned meeting with my job councilor. So immediately after my meeting concluded, Archi took me to Urgent Care to have my eye looked at. Turns out I have a scratch on my cornea. Argued with the doc about treatment plans--he wanted to give me an ointment to put in my eye. I wanted drops, because no one at home would be able to assist me with an ointment, and quite likely no one else would be able to be in the room with me as I applied the stuff. Archi and Keeper are both easily squicked by stuff going into eyes. Archi could never even watch me put my contacts in, when I used to wear them. (I stopped because they're more expensive and I no longer need them for work, since there's no risk of getting oil all over my glasses anymore.) Finally got the doc to write me a prescription for eye-drops. Went and got tea, then visited my usual ophthalmologist's office in the mall (at the glasses shop) and made an appointment for a basic vision evaluation in two weeks. They almost tried to schedule me to come in on the 28th, but I thought about that for a moment and realized it was Black Friday. "I'm not coming to the mall on Black Friday unless I'm working." After that we headed back home, with a stop at the pharmacy to pick up medicine.
This evening, my Dad came over to install a new thermostat. He also put up the towel rings in the bathrooms, so that we no longer have hand-towels sitting on the counters. Once the thermostat was in, Dad and Archi went down to the basement to make sure the furnace was functioning properly, apparently because Dad didn't think the thermostat could cause the problem we were having (where the heat wasn't coming on). I was sure it was the thermostat because we still have hot water. Thing is, it turns out that this apartment has an electric water heater, so the furnace doesn't affect water heat. Great news, hot water doesn't rely on the oil! Thing is, the furnace wasn't running properly and Dad couldn't fix it, so that's another thing we need the maintenance guy to look at/correct.
Back on the medical issues again, Archi just took Keeper to the ER.... I hope she'll be alright. ~_~*

I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.
The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
Ah... Lovely foggy morning... I got on the wrong bus, not considering the morning buses at all. I ended up at the university since the freaking bus didn't stop at a single place I recognized or had heard off... Naturally I could've tried jumping of at any stop and wait for one of the regular city buses to arrive (they all stop at Smedjegatan) but I wanted to have a slim idea about where I were so I stayed on it :x

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
This is just not our month. First Dad gets into a car accident and his car gets damaged. Then earlier this week Grandpa wakes up with his back hurting so bad he couldn't move. Now just yesterday, Grandma (Grandpa's wife because my other grandma is a widow :V /useless info) got hit by someone who clearly wasn't paying attention because he ran a stop sign, hit the passenger's side and ripped off her bumper.
Sigh :V

Great, about keys of my laptop's keyboard aren't working, I thought they would hold on until Christmas, but no. Now, I have to wait a month and half write with the visual one. I have tried everything I could on my side, the only thing left is changing it... It's the last time I'm buying acer, the same happened with my first one a few years ago

D: Sorry about your laptop. I've never heard anything good about Acer. Definitely suggest staying away from them from now on.Hime-Chan wrote:Great, about keys of my laptop's keyboard aren't working, I thought they would hold on until Christmas, but no. Wow! That's horrible! Have you tried contacting Acer about it? Or even the place you bought it from, if you bought it in a store?Hime-Chan wrote: I definitely will, but my laptop isn't a year old until january, so I expect it to last a year more at the very least!

Yeah, I contacted acer, they told me to bring it to where I bought it (international warranty, my bum), so I have to wait a month until I get back to France...PhoenixTears wrote:Wow! That's horrible! I don't think I'm gonna buy Acer in the future... my netbook's one too, and even with Windows 8.1 off of it, it's still a bit rubbish. Sometimes the touchpad stops working for no reason and I have to restart it to get it working again.

The same thing happened to my previous one, you'd think they would have corrected the problem by now (I bought the thing in 2008!!).mangaluva wrote:I don't think I'm gonna buy Acer in the future... my netbook's one too, and even with Windows 8.1 off of it, it's still a bit rubbish. I am worried about the state they're going to send back my new one, for my last one, they didn't correctly do something, which led it to overheat, and the screen started to have pixel lines...

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
A few hours ago I was feeling relieved and happy, but after some thinking I'm suddenly feeling panicked and worried. I might or might not have put some kind of fight in motion... CRAP!
And that's all I have to stay about this matter here in public

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
Hmm... I hadn't had problems with Acer intially, though my netbook's screen cracked this summer. I took it in to see if it could be repaired and was told I'd probably be better off getting a new one. They do seem to die a little faster than they really ought to.Hime-Chan wrote:The same thing happened to my previous one, you'd think they would have corrected the problem by now (I bought the thing in 2008!!).mangaluva wrote:I don't think I'm gonna buy Acer in the future... my netbook's one too, and even with Windows 8.1 off of it, it's still a bit rubbish. Now I have an ASUS desktop and an HP laptop that can flip around.
Other things: It is COLD in my flat this week. We ran out of oil and can't afford to buy more (minimum purchase is 100gal, and it's priced about like the gas you put in your car, so a fill costs about $400). We have also discovered that the space heater in the living room is on the same circuit as the coffee maker, so you can't get a quick hot cuppa if the heater is on--doing so will take out the internet and my computer. Correcting this requires a trip to the basement, specifically to the darkest, creepiest, farthest corner of said basement, to access the fuse box. Did I mention that particular room has no light fixture and a dirt floor? It is VERY creepy.
Keeper has been having a bad weekend, due to medical issues. ~_~* I think that got triggered by the problems of Thursday morning, when we couldn't find the doctor office for the appointment she was supposed to have.
