I'd just like to correct you in that this was OVA 1 not 4. 4 was the Crystal Mother, which they also changed to have Conan join in the fun.

However! I didn't actually make this topic to debate whether it's true or not—my primary intention was to see if anybody knows anything about the interview with Gosho. I figured that if I could find confirmation of its existence (and preferably a link to a translation) anywhere, it would be here.
As far as I can remember from interviews, Gosho really only said that the two organizations are not the same and that Kaitou Kid will not be appearing in any more cases involving Conan's Black Org after the Mystery Train. (from separate interviews I'd assume)

Unless you look at the version of the first half of 219 released with the Magic Kaito Treasured Edition sets. A new scene was animated that had been missing in the original adaptation of the story but was present in the manga version. Akako starts using magic to assist Kid but is stopped by her assistant.
