according to ANN Media service Crunchyroll announced at its New York Comic Con panel on Friday that it will begin streaming the Case Closed (Detective Conan) television anime as it airs this fall. for those who didn't know Funimation released the beginning of the television series on DVD in North America, and Viz Media publishes the original manga. Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block also ran part of the series.
is that the beginning of DC revival in the U.S or maybe they will just stream the episodes\movies that have already been dubbed\subbed?

Maybe one day, another company will buy the license for DC in the US and make a better dub than the crap FUNi has made.

except Funi is the only company making consistently good dubs anymore (AFAIK) so that's clearly not happeningKaitoHedgehog wrote:Maybe one day, another company will buy the license for DC in the US and make a better dub than the crap FUNi has made.

Do keep in mind Funi had a change of direction late in the Conan run, with Carly Hunter and Justin Cook replacing Daniel Cocanougher and the infamous Barry Watson.
The change was not complete at the time Funi was doing the late eps. But after it took place there was a tendency away from hatchet dubs and in favor of more straight dubs. Their current dubs are nothing like their early stuff; the stuff they outsource to Chris Sabat's studio, even less so.

Yeah, I saw part of the movie 5 dub once, it was really good.
Though my main problem with the dub is probably the fact that some cases had suspects voiced by people who I'm not convinced were real voice actors. I think one of the maids in I believe episode 2 could've been played by someone here and you wouldn't notice the difference.
