I'm sorry for the double post, but we just got a call... He's not going to make it, so in an hour and a half they are going to put him down.
I just don't understand, he was fine on monday. Why didn't I notice before? It just went so fast...

It's not your fault. Don't say stuff like "why didn't I see it?" to yourself. Sometimes these things come on very fast and there's nothing that anyone can do. I'm very sorry that your cat has to be put down, but he's been a very lucky cat to have an owner that loves him so much.

You're right, there's nothing we could've done. The vet told us he had some rare heart condition that was incurable and made him literally a ticking time bomb. His heart just have up on him... At least he had the time of his life here, at least he felt happy and safe, but it would be a lie to say I won't miss his large round eyes and brown nose and the hugs he wanted to get before running out of the door.

Vet gave me his paw print after he was put to sleep (fluid literally started seeping from his mouth the minute he died, so it's better this way).


I just wish I'd have had more time with him you know? It just doesn't seem fair...

I think that's a lovely thing they've done, giving you his paw print. Our vet didn't do anything like that when our dog was put down, just her ashes in a jar. It just seems like a really nice little memento of him. I'm sorry you couldn't have more time with him, but it's nice that the time you had was good.

I guess all of them are getting old... even though sweety was ten.
