In the end of the Special they knew that Conan was Shinichi, and it's just that Lupins group is kind of superhuman and over the top with these kind of things. They just figure out stuff.

I don't think I can accept that answer. Though, I suppose if one looked into it, they'd realize the connection between Conan and Shinichi. That doesn't explain the BO, Haibara, or the drug though. >.<

it would develop into another field of events, which wouldn't necessarily be bad(would satisfy many shinho fans) since it could lead to other exciting and special interactions plus the story would focus more on other plot related stuff like the BO story with out any shinran interruptions.

On the other hand, that doesn't necessarily mean good either, as u suspected, since it would prove all her waiting so far pointless and waste of time plus it would kill all the shinran fans hope for the series since their relationship has been builded up with excitement, only to stop midway. It would also create a plot hole, where as ran goes out of character. Ran is definied as naive, responsible and patient girl. If she suddenly gave up on shinichi for no reason, it would go against her character, which would indicate a poorly made character and serie development. But no worries, ran will never give up on shinichi cause that would indicate that Gosho is going out of character!! [emoji1][emoji1]

Thanks Mei another question I have Watched DC for a while since 2000 and I admit it's my favorite anime but has long has Conan been shinchi its been 20 yrs since the anime came out

From what i know, the serie is supposed to happen during a year. So a whole year hasn't gone through yet since he shrank, and i honestly don't know why gosho isn't clear with the time in serie, some say it has to do with the apotoxin effect, that conan might have stopped aging and go gosho doesn't want his surroundings to notice, but nothing certain!!!

Yes, I am, though I still like ShinichixRan, but IMO Conan/ShinichixAi/Shiho are much better.

If the anime doesn't go over 1000 episodes, I will be very surprised, considering that the anime would have to end within the next five years in order for that to not happen.
