1) It may or may not do something depending on the order. If the order requires oosting an emoticon, or some rare adjective, it will counter it.Stopwatch wrote:That won't do anything given some of the previous hints Informants have been given to carry out. I have no idea how the orders work, but I think the Spy should not have any troubles finding who his informants are. At least I would not have any troubles finding out. Unless there are some hidden rules about orders that are not mentioned in there:
"Order: Sends a message of any length to all Informants."
"Order: Sends a message of any length to all Informants."

That's right, but when you actually have to come out with an order, it's not that simple.Nemomon wrote:I have no idea how the orders work, but I think the Spy should not have any troubles finding who his informants are. You didn't say no emoticons, though considering some of the players here that could be a bad one to pick anyway. I find it unlikely to do much, but if you want to keep it up, go ahead.Togop wrote:1) It may or may not do something depending on the order. And restricting the phrasing is more likely to lead to misunderstandings and perceived slips. As in, it can make people look unintentionally Spy or Informant-like because it's hard to explain things in fewer words and without certain adjective or adverbs at one's disposal.

I'm also interested as to why you only came up with this strategy when D1 had already started when you had all of Prep to announce it and have it discussed.

That's when I got the idea. Still, if the spy knows beforehand what restrictions would be placed, they would account for that in the order.Stopwatch wrote:I'm also interested as to why you only came up with this strategy when D1 had already started when you had all of Prep to announce it and have it discussed.
As for the empticons, I made a second post as follows:

5) No characters that don't add content.
I will be suspecting people who don't follow these guidelines.

What classes as "content" is very subjective. Emoticons help portray the tone of what you're saying so I hadn't included them in that.Togop wrote:That's when I got the idea. I take that back. Considering the activity so far, for now I won't vote for people who join the discussions.Togop wrote:3) Right now my vote is Yuri as seems against my proposal. I may reconsider.

I'm thinking of going for a tie Day 1.
Lynching the Detective or a Civilian is bad for us.
If we lynch the Spy, the game will end before it even started.
After Day 1 we may have more info to get going.
And yup! We have to discuss and discuss again. That's what this game's about.

What the hell are you doing, Togop?
At first I thought you're just joking around, but with every new message it seems more and more likely you're being serious.
On the off chance that anyone is seriously considering to abide by Togop's rules, those won't help. First of all, it might already be too late at this stage, and second, as we don't know what the order is, we can't know if this'll obstruct the Informant's ability to comply at all.
It's not helping, Togop, and I'm having trouble believing that you don't see that.
I'm gonna treat this like the joke I really hope it actually is. For now, though, you have my vote, Togop.

Fact: I don't know whether these rules will help. It is impossible to know without knowing the orders.bash7353 wrote:On the off chance that anyone is seriously considering to abide by Togop's rules, those won't help.
When the rules may help, only at the cost of some inconvenience, I see no reason no to do it. If you see a way my rules would rm the civillians, share.
Fact: I don't joke when playing Espionage, and we have played enough games for you to know that. And you should also know that I seriously dislike sophistry.

Re: ESPIONAGE: Round Six (Day 1)
Here's what I think. If the Spy went for the "include those two words in your first post", then Togop rules might work.
But! Togop rules are.. impractical. For Americans [EDIT: native English-speakers], it may work, but foreigners, it might be tricky to rephrase their post.
In any case, if an informant must use certain word in their post, it's a good strategy. Why? Even without Togop rules, the post that must include specific words will sound strange, more or less.
Being restricted even further, they'll either fail to idenfity themselves, either the order will be obvious.
I won't say whether I'm for or against just yet.

Re: ESPIONAGE: Round Six (Day 1)
The Spy could be smart enough to ask for words that won't look suspicious in this game. I also think that it could be too late for now.
But there's another thing, though I might be wrong. Except a selected few, not many players post in this topic, which may mean two things:
1) Among the players that participated so far are the informants
2) The Spy asked for confirmation in the subsequent rounds rather than in the first round to avoid suspicion.
And one more thing about the speaking limitations, Dumytru already mentioned a part of that - in English pretty much every single word can be a numeral, noun, verb, adjective and/or adverb all at once. Adding such a rule could mean that we must stop using half of the words we know...
