I saw both versions, and I think I liked the old verion much more. But mostly because it had much more comedy moments that the newer version (strictly based on manga) doesn't have.

@Kor: I watched the original three seasons and I liked them much. Especially the "Try" season. Then years later two more seasons were created... and somehow I didn't finish watching them. Bit I think You should reconsider watching the original run .

The Ants arc is the longest arc in the manga, and also is the longest arc in the anime. Sometimes however You will feel that they should shorten some scenes, because they're far longer than needed. Plus, You for sure will hate Pouf orgasms.

I watched the original anime like 4 or 5 years ago. It was good, arguably better at points (read: filler that is actually good). Liked the English dub more than what the internet says I should.
