Kappei Yamaguchi. *flees*
You all knew it was coming
In all seriousness...I don't know who to say is the best because I don't know if I can pick one without being completely bias

He's left now. Akira Kamiya (old Kogoro seiyû).

Megumi Hayashibara - Ai Haibara
Largely due to Haibara's personality, but I enjoy how funny it is when she mimics Conan. One of the most soothing voices in the industry.

Re: Best VA in the anime?
Edogawa Conan's VA hand down. How Conan's voice switching tone constantly during his act never cease to crack me up. Infact, the reason I started to get interested in the anime (I'm more of a manga person) is how Conan's surgar-coated voice made the childish effect during investigation 200% better than reading text from paper

Megumi Hayashibara can do other kinds of voices than Ai's too - she's Jessie from Pokémon
Minami Takayama manages to do a really good job of sounding like a de-aged Kappei Yamaguchi sometimes.

Re: Best VA in the anime?
When they're allowed to get particularly dramatic, Megumi, Minami and Akira would provide absolutely brilliant voice acting. Like they deserve legit awards for it. I'd go so far as to say the anime might not have been my favorite if they were only "pretty good".
Conan is particular has captured so many emotions so well, it's crazy.

I'd have to agree with that, or go with Minami. What he brought to the table was some pretty legitimate humor that otherwise didn't really work so well in manga form. His performance really improved that character, maybe more so than any of the others.Wakarimashita wrote:He's left now. Akira Kamiya (old Kogoro seiyû).

Akira Kamiya (I agree with Jd- here; his humor really brought something for the series), Megumi Hayashibara (I'm surprised she has a lot of fans here!) and Tohru Furuya (I get chills from his performance).

Re: Best VA in the anime?
Ai's VA is the same VA that voiced Ayanami Rei from Evangelion and Ranma from Ranma 1/2, just to throw this out there.

*sticks "Female" in front of Ranma whether or not it's obvious :V*jahithber wrote:Ai's VA is the same VA that voiced Ayanami Rei from Evangelion and Ranma from Ranma 1/2, just to throw this out there.

Not to mention, the male Ranma is Kappei Yamaguchi which voices Shinichi. In a way, Haibara is the female equivalent of Conan.Jecka wrote:*sticks "Female" in front of Ranma whether or not it's obvious :V*jahithber wrote:Ai's VA is the same VA that voiced Ayanami Rei from Evangelion and Ranma from Ranma 1/2, just to throw this out there.

Basically the whole cast was in Ranma.

Best VA in the anime?
Are we just gonna start naming all of them now?usotsuki wrote:Agasa = Genma
Off the top of my head:
Jirokichi (until now :x) = Happosai
Sonoko = Azusa
Chianti = Kasumi
Hideo = Kuno (apparently)
Back on topic: I'd say Minami Takayama is my favorite (I just happen to find more anime with Kappei :V)
