Yes, and again I say, just because he said so, doesn't mean it's going to happen. He wants to retire at 52. DC's popular and I'm sure it gets him a lot of money, why would he want to stop?.
Anyway, he'd better plan to end it soon. *demands an ending to MK*

Rather than money, I'd say the bigger factors are the popularity of the franchise as a whole. It's still one of Shonen Sunday's better selling manga, the anime still gets high ratings, the movies box office is big, and in the last year we even had two movies (well, one's a crossover, but still).

So on second thought, money is actually a big part of that, yeah

I'd suggest to censor wishful thinking when it comes to this issue. At this point there truly is no telling when the manga will be done and what Gosho said back in 2011 isn't necessarily relevant today (and as Jecka said, just because he wants to retire by that age doesn't mean he will). The new arc could take 6-7 more years for all we know.

Plus, many of us in this site are already college and after college students, so... yeah, join the club I guess

I guess so it can't be helped:(. I surely will, I've known Conan since I was 6 and started to watch it on a daily basis since I turned 13, I'm 17 now, and I can't stop now I guess:p.

Regarding the interview user Jecka found, it is the wanted one indeed, thank you very much! Gosho was implying that he's thinking of retiring at the age of Agasa (53), but he feels he'll feel like drawing again so he's not sure. He's also concerned about his staff growing old with him so he's not sure about it. Ugh, we'll have to wait and see. I just hope we finish from this Haneda case and start with Rum's straight away.

On a very side note, while reading the interview I read that Gosho was planning for a showdown between Sera and Haibara, and that was going to happen soon, the interview was in 2011 for those who are wondering, but was there a showdown between them back then? I don't remember watching a literal showdown between Sera and Ai..

the first time they met was in the mystery train, ever since then, they didn't meet in person, so no....everything was more focused on Sera's past, middle brother and mystery girl and then later up to bourbon's pursuit and the scarlet showdown

EDIT: still waiting for one though, since, like Gosho said, both of them are like wolves, fascinating ones too

Regardless, whether DC manga will go on for 2, 5 or 10 years, I will still keep reading. The reason, I want to finish within 2 years or so, because I kind of feel that the ending is coming. After all we were introduced to Rum, who is close to the boss and we can find some interesting things about BO through him. Of course, Gosho may do another arc after Rum arc (I'm guessing that the current arc is called that), such as Whiskey arc, etc.

I, definitely, didn't say that I want to DC manga finish within two years, because I think Gosho is getting old and he wouldn't be able to draw, anymore. When, he'll finish DC; he can finish MK, draw DC sequel or start a new manga and it can take him another 20 years. Besides, even if DC's manga ends, it doesn't mean that the whole DC franchise will end straight after the last DC file. We will still have movies. AOs, OVAs, etc to enjoy.

About Ai and Sera showdown, I've just got idea that maybe they will have showdown either after finding out Akai is Okiya or just before.

Also I am waiting for the confrontation between Ai and Sera,and Gosho said it will be spectacular,but I'm kinda losing hope to see this now.as Soul dreamer said it will happen probably when they'll found out that Okiya=Akai

6 days ago it hit the internet in Chinese, meaning it probably was out in Japan a little bit before that. However it does take a while to translate things because the good people that translate things have real lives. PLUS think of all the Shogi terminology that will be in the chapter and how much they have to research to understand it enough to translate it.

PLUS PLUS, the chapter after this one won't even be available for several more weeks due to Gosho being at the World cup, so the DCTP team doesn't really have to put as much of a rush to put out the chapter. So let them take the time to make it as accurate as possible for us to read in english.

20 more volumes, to put the volume count over 100 volumes, would take at least 5 more years minimum.

5 years ~ 20 volumes
10 years ~ 40 volumes
15 years ~ 60 volumes
20 years ~ 80 volumes (currently 83 volumes)
25 years ~ 100 volumes
