I don't know... I doubt we have time to get to know 5 sailor senshi AND the enemy at the same time... I got a feeling that either sailor senshi's personality would be looked over or that enemy's personality would be paper thin.

Then that'd give more points to the original anime in terms of characters, development and exploration. But as of yet, this concern is speculative at best. I'd say we should wait for the anime to start at least before we start criticizing the writing.

It's sad for me to say that, but I kinda agree with Usotsuki. The Devil Survivor 2 anime proves that. Protagonists had to defeat 8 Septentriones and Polaris. Many characters just... sppeared and disappeared in an instant. Same for certain bosses. The staff managed to squeeze a whole long and difficult plot into 13 episodes anime.

I know... but the fact that they are trying to squeeze all of season 1 into 20 something kinda worries me...
and about chibiusa... I heard that her popularity ( ESPECIALLY in the west) was ranked very low and peopled were so annoyed with her...( it can't be voice acting because I heard chibiusa's dub and... it wasn't really that bad. ( heck I'd say it is even better than Usagi/Sernea's dub voice.)) heck I heard that chibi-chibi got higher ranks in popularity than chibiusa...
It's probably to do with the way she was portrayed. She was little more than an annoying brat for a lot of her introductory season. Her mother really wasn't any better (in the dub, at least).

first impressions usually stick around. Had she been introduced differently her character might have been more popular

26 seems like a lot for just the first arc, actually... but they HAVE to be planning to do more than the first arc. They've discussed how they're going to rectify the portrayals of Uranus and Neptune, and they don't appear until the Pharaoh 90 arc. I'm kinda hoping for a bit more time in the first arc, though, since in the manga they did kinda go through the introductions of Mercury, Mars and Jupiter quite quickly, IMO.
Also, I think part of the dislike for Chibi-Usa is due to her pretty creepy Electra complex and her time as Black Lady making her unsympathetic. She is also pretty bratty, which easily puts people off.

Are you sure the translators were talking about the new anime, and not the old anime? Viz is currently subbing and redubbing the old anime in English, so perhaps the said things you read the translators say were related to the translation of the old anime?

Ahh, maybe T_T But I would really love to see all five manga arcs done properly and I'm praying that if this season is successful they'll do them all. And maybe Sailor V. That would be awesome.

Since it's Toei, I don't think you should get your hopes up.
The way things looked the past 2 years (since any indication about a new anime was made) with numerous delays, it took quite a lot of time to even get this thing going, and considering the end result is 1 episode every other week, it kinda feels like there was a faction that really wasn't interested in creating this anime.
I guess I shall wait and see... and I hope they don't do that break up crap they did in season 2 if they are thinking of doing it... God it was stupid....

I disagree. I thought it was very sweet and allowed for more exploration of Usagi's and Mamoru's romance, as well as show their determination. Plus, I thought it was a pretty decent way to bring another conflict to the status quo for the season.
still... I find the REASON for it to be pretty stupid... "Oh I'm suffering from a nightmare that if I marry sailor moon she might die! what should I do?

I mean why? Was there any reason for Mamoru to break up with her? Why couldn't he tell her or other sailor scouts? I understand that there need to be conflict but reasoning behind it is pretty idiotic and stupid. they could have done it better and make better reason why Maormu would break up with Usagi.
