Nisekoi's anime is still doing pretty well in my opinion, though there's something...off about it as well.

However, it has since introduced one of my favorite characters in the last few episodes and she's as great as ever.

I think my problems just kind of stem from SHAFT's style. Like...there is NO mistake that the animation is beautiful and the colors pop along with the environments, but I think I mentioned before that Nisekoi......isn't really all that much of a "LOOK AT THE BACKGROUND, WHOA" sort of series. The heavy details have always been with the characters and the focus has always been on the characters. ...It's weird though because it's not like the characters have lost any detail either. I think it might be that everything is so detailed that you kind of don't know where to focus.

That being said, with Tsugumi's introduction, I think this problem was largely fixed. Her scenes are often very fast with her chasing someone or shooting at someone, so there's never really shots that focus on the scenery, and...these have been some of the best moments so far imo.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes the super detailed stuff works, but a lot of the time it's just distracting. :v

Kill la Kill had a really lame ending but LMFAO at what happened to Toriko, instead of him losing arm and legs like in the manga he turned into a rainbow vampire...

If This Ugly Yet Beautiful World's writer wrote the Death Note anime, Light would constantly be distracted by anime slice of life tropes for 3 episodes before writing anything down.

Watching through Kill La Kill just now because everyone says it's awesome. I'm on episode 12 and to be honest I'm still not really feeling it, but battle anime in general aren't my thing and I don't really go for the art style, so that's probably why. I do think they have some good characters going and I respect the fact that it's the only anime I can think of off the top of my head where dudes have nipples, but in general I don't think it's my thing.

I think that the Nisekoi anime is improving in the fact that I think they realized some of their mistakes early on so they toned them down a bit. For instance, in about episode 7 I think, there was a scene where two characters were talking on the roof and I swear the sky looked like something out of an apocalypse film. Compare to last week's episode where instead of making the sky all stylized, they instead set up a scene where the characters were more in the background and the stylization was on the silhouettes of the plants that were "in front of the camera". It doesn't sound like much, but for a slice of life series comparing the two:

Episode 7^

Episode 12^

The latter one better fits a slice of life anime, imo. The first one, although pretty, just...doesn't fit?

I think my like for the anime has also increased since the manga actually went and parodied SHAFT's conventions for April Fool's Day by having the main character noticing and pointing out the cliches as odd ("Wait what, is this really the school I always go to? It's suddenly so fancy and different" *one of the girls does the SHAFT head tilt* "W-Whoa, Onodera! Doesn't that hurt your neck??")

yeah, the art style and action is like 1/2 the reason to watch it. Mako is probably the other 1/2.

@Conan-chandesune: Haven't watched it myself yet but it seems to be very popular. I'm thinking about watching it soon, too.

At the moment I'm watching dc, one piece and I just began with fairy tail.

.......................Wow, if the manga version of that episode of Nisekoi was that bad for fanservice, I sure as hell don't remember it.

I mean, Jesus Christ. I can usually ignore fanservice, especially when I know it's going to be a beach episode (par for the course), but JESUS that was bad. Boob shots everywhere, awkward angles, sparkles literally up the ass......

It didn't help either that one of the more serious events happened in this episode. Although the event itself was well done, being sandwiched between absurd fanservice did not do it any justice.

Come on, guys. Beach episodes provide fanservice naturally, you don't need to shove it in our faces. :|

Currently marathoning on all of my childhood shows, like Cardcaptor Sakura, Mirmo De Pon and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. I might catch up on Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny once I find a good copy with subs.

Nisekoi is nearly finished and I've gotta say I'm really glad they decided to end it this way. After the horrible taste the fanservice episode left in my mouth (which got even worse "aftertaste" when I checked the manga version and there wasn't anywhere NEAR as much fanservice), these last two episodes are going to be a really good way to end off the anime.

To be honest, the place they're ending it is probably the best part of the manga too, which is a shame since it's not even at the halfway point of where the manga is. The manga actually probably should have tried to end around this point, honestly - as much as I love the characters and the humor, it has dragged on way too long @_@; At least with other harems I've gotten into, there was usually SOME sort of progression.

That actually makes me want to check out the anime version instead. It's always sad when a series peaks too early.
