Spoiler:
Are there two Cecils? Is the Cecil we've been listening to this whole time some kind of changeling replacement for the real Cecil? IS THE MAN THAT CARLOS LOVES NOTHING BUT A LIE?! And what does Strex have to do with it? You know Strex has something to do with it, as a corporation they're even more sinister than Disney.
Spoiler:
It's almost certainly linked in with Cassette. That, I can agree with. (Also, Cecil getting gradually more Strex-like at points is definitely creepy because we're not outright being told about his re-education, but it is heavily implied and I really hope that that "Desert Bluffs is a future Night Vale" idea isn't true). One thing I do wonder is if it's got more to do with The Sandstorm than it originally seems like. Cecil and Kevin seemed like one of the only few who didn't "kill their double" after all. In fact, neither of them were technically on the same side of the portal at any one time, unlike the Mayor and Intern Vithya(sp?).
I want to speculate on who bought lot 37, but there are just so many options and I don't think there's enough evidence to figure out for sure which one it could be at this stage.
In other news, I'm looking forward to Carlos's new VA.

I'm quite impressed by their decision to hire a new VA basically amounted to "okay basically it's a podcast so the VAs don't HAVE to look like their characters but we do a lot of live stuff and also why SHOULDN'T a gay hispanic character be played by a gay hispanic actor?"
Spoiler:
I always assume Desert Bluffs was like nega-Night Vale, but if it's future... oh god. I wonder if this has anything to do with the time-travelling dude from the first season and the man in the tan jacket...?
Wow, I didn't even consider that the Cecil in Lot 37 was a different entity than our Cecil. That opens up a lot of new possibilities. :x
I figured he was being sold because the auction was for contraband/"seized" items and Cecil was behaving pretty badly in the previous ep xd
Superman = Captain America > Aquaman = Hal Jordan > Wonder Woman > Barry Allen > Thor > Martian Manhunter > The Hulk > Wasp > Hawkeye > [power gap] > Iron Man = Batman > [power gap] > Hank Pym
My day was literally made 120000% better by remembering that there was a new episode today.
Spoiler:
Is it weird that I found the news that Strex has banned bloodstones upsetting? I mean bloodstones are clearly something evil and unsettling, but they've also been a part of Night Vale culture since the first episode...
ALSO WHAT THE BLOODY HELL HAS REPLACED/POSSESSED CECIL AND DOES CARLOS KNOW
Eh, I kind of thought it was just a monster of the week type thing like when he was possessed by the glow cloud. I guess we'll know for sure next episode. But same on the bloodstones. I do like how Strex is an essentially extra evil version of big businesses coming in and putting smaller ones out of business. Obviously, there are some more creepy aspects involved which need not be said, but still.

Forgot to post this: I did try to get into this show after a friend recommended it a while back, but it wasn't quite for me. I do love other things that utilize this sort of presentation and do wish them the best and much success. Maybe I'll try again sometime and get into it.
My thoughts on the last episode can be summed up thus: DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Also, episodes seem to alternate on whether or not they are Strex-related. I'm still nervous about what they plan to do to Carlos, and wondering how Tamika Flynn's doing.
Cecil Baldwin is the VA. Cecil (the character) was never officially given a full name prior to Cassette, but most fans took Baldwin as fanon, I suppose. So, it's not so much a "change of name" as that the actual name had never been revealed before.

Cecil is goddamn adorable when squeeing over unnatural pets,
Spoiler:
Right up until they try to kill him. And his cat. KHOSHEKH ;_;
Welp, this is not how I envisaged Strex truly evoking Cecil's wrath, but they've done it anyway. Guerilla radio warfare ahoy!
Also, I just realized what perfect sense it makes that boy scouts in Night Vale learn things like Advanced Siege Tactics and Cecil learned Insurrectionist Warfare in school. The creators mentioned that the idea of Night Vale came from thinking of it as a place where all Area 51 conspiracy theories are true. The inhabitants of Night Vale have learned to be survivalist conspiracy theorists by necessity!
STEVE CARLSBURG IS CECIL'S BROTHER-IN-LAW. THAT'S WHAT CECIL HATES HIM. OH MY GOD.
Although he refers to Steve as his niece's stepfather. I'm unclear on if this means that Steve is married to Cecil's sister, as I don't remember him previously mentioning having a sister, or if Steve is married to Cecil's brother's ex-wife, since I do remember him mentioning having a brother, although I think at the time he was mentioning not remembering having a brother...
Khoshekh T_T
Cecil really is increasingly passive-aggressive towards Station Management in the first half of the episode. Then he just keeps getting more aggressive. I'm loving it, but I'm kinda scared for Cecil.
DANAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Strex controlling the girl scouts cannot be a good thing
STREX DO NOT LAY ONE GODDAMN FINGER ON CECIL'S SWEET LITTLE NIECE SO HELP ME SATAN
I am really very worried about Cecil and everybody around him
