I caught Xerneas by hitting it once with flamethrower, causing a burn and taking about half its HP, then tossing 1 ultra ball at it. It felt like cheating.

They made legendaries so stupidly easy to catch this generation you don't even need to do that. I literally entered battle against it, threw an Ultra Ball or Quick Ball, and caught it. Four times (because I was trying to get one with good IVs). Twice it took three balls, but it was still at full health.

The first one I ran into had good IVs... not that I even wanted to bother resetting for them in the first place. It also took 3 ultra balls to catch. :V
