Why does Vermouth always try to protect Shinichi and Ran??

Post by jason15 »

We all know Vermouth is a member of the BO and she's willing to kill anyone, but not Shinichi and Ran. She always tries to protect these two. When Gin asked her about Shinichi, she denied knowing him although she knows very well Shinichi's identity. And when someone try to hurt Ran, she will do everything to protect her, she even sacrificed her cowoker_Calvados, just to keep Ran's life.
This is what i think:
Back to the case when Ran still saved her life eventhough Vermouth tried to kill Ran and Shinichi at first, maybe Ran's action touched the weakness deep inside Vermouth's heart. Vermouth still has some good side in hers and Ran was the one who make her realize that, Ran's like an angel to Vermouth, an angel who smiled upon her.
And Shinichi was the one who say about saving somebody eventhough they're bad, because every single life's worth living, which make Vermouth surprised. Before, Vermouth always thought nobody cares about her or her life, so when Shinichi and Ran express their words to her, she thrilled. Vermouth thinks Shinichi is the silver bullet, who can destroy the BO and Vermouth doesn't want to be a part of the organization, but she's afraid to escape, so the only way to destroy the BO is to keep Shinichi and Ran safe. After the BO was destroyed, then she can live as herself_a good person.

No, it's just because they saved her life, not because she's secretly a good person.

Also in the Mystey Train case, Yukiko said there's a reason why Vermouth keeps secret the fact that Conan and Haibara are shrunken high-schoolers.

Vermouth is certainly not a good person :)

Because to her there are no angels and knights in the world I guess
Which seems to be true.. Shinichi has been the only one so far in the story even Heiji wouldn't have saved a serial killer trying to shoot him before he met Shinichi

Shuu... maybe, but just to Akemi
