Hi! I go by Shiromi. I'm shy, but I love thought-provoking discussions. I saw a few happening here, and I'd been looking for a forum that I could indulge my discussion cravings in while fangirling over something I love. So, this place seemed like just the forum to join!
Information about me... hmmm...
I experienced a little bit of the Detective Conan show a few years ago, but it was out of order and kinda random, so I didn't pick up on it. A friend of mine had 25 volumes of the manga, and shared them with me. I liked it, but was wary because it looked like this was one of those never-ending series that over-stays its welcome. Also, I was pretty deep into Fullmetal Alchemist, and didn't have room for much else. Then, this summer, I read the entire manga. Then I watched most of the show (I skipped as much filler as I could). Then I watched the movies and OVAs and part of the live action adaptions - those were pretty terrible. I've seen amateur cosplayers pull off Gin better. Though whoever was Mouri Kogorou looked like he was having a blast, and he was the only entertaining thing in there. /enoughofthatrant
So, I found myself getting really into this fandom and reading up on fan theories, and now I'm hooked and writing my first fanfiction in this fandom. I mostly wrote Tolkien/Harry Potter fanfiction before this.
Fun facts:
A hobby of mine is making Conlangs.
I studied Japanese in college, and can speak a bit. It's getting rusty though.
I'm married, and have a genderqueer spouse, so you'll see me refer to them with gender-neutral pronouns. That's not me being mysterious, that's me being honest.
My dad introduced me to Feminist theories, and he's a big part of why I like to do feminist criticism.
My first fandom was Lord of the Rings.
About half of the languages I speak are dead.
My apartment has killed every plant I've tried to grow in it.

I'm a non-religious agnostic-atheist, and I love studying folk-lore. I just don't like believing in it.
I cosplay. My specialty is sewing elaborate dresses and uniforms. One of my pet-peeves is artists who don't understand how gravity works. (yes that looks cool but boobs aren't actually filled with helium)
Erm... can't think of much else.
