Re: Pokemon!

I have baby eevees for sale.

Also, I'm drawing my own region of pokemon based on English culture and I'm running out of ideas... I need help.
I have Doctor who based stuff, I used some of the monsters from my copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them an I used ideas from culture and myths (like the Banshee, Wiccan stuff, etc.)
Currently my list counts 104 pokemon, 90 being originals, and I need 31 other pokemon to complete the list.
If someone could help that'd be great.

My tip is don't use Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them--look up a real selection of Celtic and Pictish myths, as Celtic and Pictish culture covered all of the UK prior to the Roman invasion. There's enough brownies, pixies, faeries, elves, kelpies, dwarves, bogles and other monsters to match the current number of real Pokemon.

(Post-1066, with superstitions are a good font of lore. Witches were believed to be able to shapeshift into a variety of bizarre animals, and there area lot of unusual depictions of Satan aside from the Pan-based Catholic version.)

No fairies, but fauns, centaurs and other mythic like creatures. (like a bicorn from Chinese myth)
I have a witch and wizard pokemon, sign pokemon, dream catchers, raggedy doctor dolls~ and cybermon too.
Now I'm stuck...

Errr... dream catchers are native american mythology, not from anywhere in Britain, and fauns and centaurs are both Greek. I thought you said they were based on English culture...?

I did say that didn't I? I mostly meant that it's some English culture with an addition of other myths (because supernatural stuff (and fauns had to be added cause of Narnia and centaurs thanks to HP). Not everything I used is English, I know, but some stuff is.
I just need more ideas... I'm low of dark, poison, fighting and ground types, though research gave me at least two new ideas. I already added dinos.
Actually, I hoped on using more mythical creatures from real English, Scottish, Welsh or even Irish culture. I hoped to complete the list this year so I can try and hack a game to make my own roms. I got the plot down, mostly, it's just the pokemon and the pixel work left.

Which would be why I recommended getting a proper book on Pictish or Celtic mythology. Twelve million different types of magical creatures,I'm not even joking.

And of course, for more modern culture you can have food-based Pokemon like a haggis or yorkshire pudding or a water-type Pokemon based on fish 'n' chips. Base something on Monty Python. Base something evil on Moffat and legendaries on the Queen and Sir Terry Pratchett and stuff like that. Have football-based Pokemon. There's plenty to go on without having to mix cultures from opposite sides of the planet.

And once again I am left wondering what is so wrong with other cultures that apparently British/English/whatever culture is so much superior... V:

I might be addicted to the UK... juuuust a little. But since it's a region based on England I'd imagine there should be some references... I don't really care if there are pokemon from other myths just as long as it includes pokemon based on myths.
I mean, I have a mole and bloodsucker pokemon too....

I'm not saying it's superior, I'm just saying that I thought she said she wanted to base it on English culture and then she didn't and now I'm confused

Also I was kinda disappointed that there weren't more specifically French Pokemon and leaders in Kalos... I was really hoping for it after seeing how some of them were very mediaeval-Europe based.

The pokeradar is the most infuriating thing I have ever used. V:

Got a chain of Klefki all the way up to 40 and then used all of my repels trying to find a shiny patch... and nothing. :|

In total, spent an hour and 10 minutes on that. Sigh. What a waste. Clearly the pokeradar hates me.

I don't understand why so many people complained about the lack of originality in 5th Gen games and now everyone is silent about the little to nothing originality in the Kalos region. 30ish mega evolutions? 4th Gen did it, just without the name Mega. Santalune forest is a copy of Viridian forest. Snorlax blocking a bridge, I wonder where we've seen that. 3 mascot legendaries with unique abilities, the 3rd one blocking the other 2. Evil team's boss waking up a legendary to destroy humanity (and adding some theory, not showing their genuine love for pokemon). Gifted Lapras. A failing Power Plant. Lowest amount of new pokemons introduced in the history of the games. OH NO I DROPPED THE LIFT KEY! sounds familiar? :-X
I'm probably missing some more other things too, I'll try to add them if I remember them. The point is that X and Y are great games, but they don't shine in originality, I wish people (not directed at anyone in DCTP :P) would realize that this lacking happened in past recent games and it was a complete flamewar in the internet, now they are just ignoring it cause OH 3D GRAPHICS! @.@
I just needed to write that, thank you for reading \o/
